How to stop my cat nipping my fingers when giving him treats

My cat is about 8 months old and never bites in aggression but when I give him treats he catches my fingers when he takes them. He's very very greedy and gets quite excited when we offer him treats.

I've managed to get him to stop greeding over people when we eat dinner but I wish I could give him a treat withough losing my fingertips!

Any help greatly appreciated!

Not sure but perhaps it will help if you cut down on treats and increase the feedings? It just sounds like a hungry kitty to me. dontknow.gif

I actually trained my cats to "sit pretty" before they get their treats... I make sure they sit down before I put the treat on the ground. I say don't feed the treats directly out of your hand to their mouth: problem solved!

Definatly not too hungry, checked with the vet about food portions and she said it was fine. I might try the sitting pretty idea! Far prefferable to nibbled fingers.
