Christmas charity work..?

My sister wants to go to downtown Halifax this Christmas and hand out envelopes with money in them to people on the streets. I think it's a great idea and look forward to it.

I think next year I want to have jacket/blanket drive for people who are out in the cold. I saw some folks handing out jackets a few years ago and it was nice to see.

So what do you guys do to help out around the holidays?

We get gift cards for food places - I'd prefer to do that than give straight cash!
