Socks attacked me this morning and shredded my arm up pretty good. This is way out of her normal behaviour. She's bit me before, but it was always just a little nip to get me out of bed or whatnot, but this morning she jumped on my arm and KEPT biting and hissing at me. I really hope she's alright
. It's so hard not knowing what's wrong with her and why she would do this.

Please wish us luck.

Give us an update when you can and make sure to look after your arm!

Oh, I will.
I never realized how vicious she could be!

On a brighter note, she's acting 100% normal now and purring in my lap. The lady at the vets office says that it could just be heat related, that she's cranky and all. I'm still going to get her checked out, but my grandpa (a retired vet) said "Imagine yourself in a fur coat in these temperatures and tell me you wouldn't be mad at the ones that were bald!" lol. I'm still going to get her checked out, but I'm really relieved that she's acting normal now.

Grandpa suggested that I shave her, but I don't think that's the way to go about it...

Everything checked out okay...he just looked at her. He said that he wouldn't put her through the stress of running any tests unless she does it again. He figures that it was a mixture of the heat and just that she is getting old and cranky...lol...

She needs her teeth cleaned and she's a month behind on her annual vaccinations. I will make her an appointment in September, because I don't have any extra money right now.

Hopefully Socks was just grumpy and hot!

It's funny when I hear about cats getting grumpy in their old age (where old age starts around 10 years). My family's cat lived to 23 and never acted grumpy or old!
