Lately Ella has decided to pick up an old habit I thought she had stopped.... bolting out of the house the moment you open the door. She has done this 4 nights in a row now, I even went in kicking my foot to startle her back because my hands were full and but she just jumped right over my foot. Well when Ella gets out it is a game to her, its "catch me is you can". She gets out and looks all cute and will roll on the concrete and as soon as you are close enough to catch her she dashes under the cars. She is great at staying just out of your reach, she will even come up to you and bolt again before you have a chance to get your hands on her. Needless to say this is getting frustrating, tonight she only had me chase her for 10 minutes and then walked right up to me and lay down so I could pick her up.
I don't think she gets that I don't like nor understand her "game". Well what is slightly entertaining is how she looks when she is finally apprehended. She is pure white, but rubbing on the undercarriages of the car gets her dirty fast. This is her tonight after i brought her in... you cant really tell but her tail is also gray with filth as well as a little on her back. Gotta love the oil I believe on her ear and neck.

She looks so happy, I just told her she had to take a bath.
I dont really think oil is good for her to clean herself.

This actually one of her less filthy returns... she escaped into a storage complex one night a while back, I didn't get to her right away because I didn't have shoes and it was the middle of winter. When I caught up with her she was behind a chain-link fence with barb wire over the top... how she got in is still a mystery to this day. That night it took hours to get her back as she was rolling around on asphalt and I had to find a way to lure her out as there was no way for me to go in.... after many failed attempts it took a laser and holding the bottom of the fence up while she chased it under to get her to where I could actually catch her. Well when she came back from that adventure you would not have know she was a white cat, you would have thought she was gray with black patches as there was literally no part of her clean.

Well giving her a bath is just more no fun for you - but I wonder if she has to have a bath every time she plays her game she'd find it less enticing? :lol3:

My Chyna used to be a dasher too, until a couple weeks ago. She slipped out unnoticed when I let the dogs out around 3a.m., so she was stuck out in the cold for three hours until I got up. She hasn't run out since.

She ran out yesterday again, but something spooked her and she ran right back in.
But the 4 days in a row of having a bath has not made her want to stop, I'm just hoping she gives up again soon. I think it will get cold soon, I have been wearing short sleeve still (this is the warmest November ever) but I don't want to have to chase her in the cold. Had to chase her in the cold for hours once. The funny part is as angry as she gets about bath time, as soon as she is dry she wants love.

She's beautiful. Hopefully she realizes inside is safer now
