I just found out that the kitten that showed up on my deck the other day is not lost or a semi feral... she is a 5 month old kitten who was dumped in the field beside my house along with a brother and sister in hopes that I would take care of them. How do I know this... my daughter fessed up, that her father brought them over one night a couple weeks ago before he and his girlfriend moved to Vegas... and even better than that was that they left their other cats to fend for themselves around the apartment they used to live in. These kittens have never lived outside, I just don't understand how people can be so stupid!!!! Now I am worrying about these other two and have been unable to find them. And I really can't take on any more myself... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I guess your daughter didn't know how to handle the news :( - must be very upsetting to her as well :hugs::hugs: Hope you find the other kitten and the two cat's at the apartment complex. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Humans never surprise me anymore....there is just so many heartless people out there.

Hopefully all the kitties have managed to find their way into loving homes, sending vibes for those precious babies

I suppose it shouldn't surprise me... he did walk out on his kids and leave them for eight years. Such a jerk! I mean I would have rather seen him take them to the humane society... at least they would have a warm bed and a meal. I put out extra food this morning in case they come around these cats are socialized to people so they may have befriended someone, but I live outside the city near a wooded area and their are wild animals...

What an idiot! I am so sorry for you and the kitties. Your ex sounds like such a horrible human being! I hope that you are able to find the other 2 little ones. Just heartbreaking!

Things like that just make me so mad.  I can't understand how people can be so heartless.    Anyone who would treat an animal like that would be just as likely to do the same thing to a child.

I hope you can find homes for them or a no-kill shelter that will adopt them out.

I hate people like that.  I am dealing with something along those lines now.  Orange Kitty, whom I have posted about, has a home.  He has had a home the entire time I worried about him.  He has had a home the entire time I have fed him.  He has had a home the entire time I gave him flea/tic medicine (I know he was not getting it since I picked tics off him).  When my son and I found out he had a home we so wanted to go to them and give them a punch in the nose.  He lost half his ear last year due to frostbite.  Some people just view animals as disposable creatures.  I don't.  I have a new stray showing up.  She is a beauty.  She has not allowed me anywhere near her yet..but, in time that will change.

I never cease to be amazed by the senseless cruelty of humans.

When Smokie's previous owners found him, he was a wee kitten about 2 months old and was on the side of the highway, in a cardboard box HOG TIED with duct tape grr grr grr

I watch Animal Cops and hubby doesnt let me anymore because I get too upset- I think there need to be harsher punishment for animal abuse, neglect, and cruelty!

Animal abuse is DIRECTLY linked with domestic violence and child abuse. Those who hurt women, children, and others - alot of times started by being cruel to animals. Charles Manson began with bugs as a child and moved his way up.

Okay - rant over :)

St Francis of Assisi put it best when he said:

"If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men.  ~St. Francis of Assisi "
