Saturday I'm getting up bright and early and going to meet a one year old boy named Sam and his mother. If things work out well, then I will be given the opportunity to become his nanny. I'm so excited!! I love kids to death, and this will be a terrific job for me.
I will also stay on at my current job a few nights a week as my part time job.
I went out and bought some stickers, glitter, ribbon, posterboard, stencils, markers, and such. I plan on making a biiiig 'play poster' for him. It will have silly faces on it, and neat little pockets make with various materials and also shutters that he can open up and discover things underneath it.
I want to use it as an 'ice breaker' between him and I. Hopefully it will interest him and then him and I can feel eachother out a bit. It will be his to keep permanently whether I get the job or not.
However, my question to you guys... what kind of 'hands on' projects can him and I do *together*? Like crafts and such? I'd like to spend a lot of fun quality time with him, but also make it educational and ensure that it helps him develop and grow.
