I know my cat has had recent head trauma, I've taken him to the vet already and he was on pain killers and is still on antibiotics. However, he has started to pee everywhere but his litter box. I'm afraid if he doesn't start peeing in his liter box, or if I can't figure out why he isn't peeing in his liter box, I'll be forced to give him up.

Any help on this? Is his peeing everywhere related to the head trauma, such as neurological damage?

Poor little guy... Yes it could very well be neurological damage and I would have your vet look into that. You might want to try Feliway, which you can buy as a spray or plug in diffuser which is a pheromone to help calm kitties down in stressful situations and many times helps eliminate inappropriate peeing if it is proven not to be related to his health. Sending vibes that everything works out hun!

Oh my gosh..... What happened to her as far as the head trauma?? It is possible that the peeing is a result of all of the stress from him accident and vet care. I wonder if on top of all of this your cat has developed an UTI. Worth checking into before you were to give up on him. Call your vet and see about getting an urinalysis done. Loads of vibes for your boy and hope he recovers fully from this accident :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Definitely talk to the vet about doing an urinalysis to rule out a bladder infection or other physical problem.  Also, keep the kitty confined to a single small space, like the bathroom or a small bedroom, until he is using the litter box again.  There is a cat litter called Cat Attract that is pretty effective in getting cats to use the litter box again.  It comes with all kinds of tips on encouraging litter box use.  You can also view the booklet online: http://www.preciouscat.com/solve-your-litter-problems-with-cat-attract-I-3.html

I'm so sorry. :heart3: In addition to all of the above advice, are you using an enzyme cleaner to clean up the spots where he's peed outside of the box? This is an essential component in getting cats to use the litter box again. In addition to the urinalysis, urine culture, Feliway, and Cat Attract litter, you need a good enzyme cleaner, used properly, to clean up after him. We lay aluminum foil down over the spots while they air dry. Nok Out, Urine Off, Anti-Icky Poo, and Stink Free are all good enzyme cleaners. We use Nok Out. Note, the areas must be soaked, allowed to sit for 10-15 minutes, blotted, then allowed to air dry.

Nok out saved my couch....I moved to a new house in the spring and bought a brand new microfiber couch. A couple months later, one of my cats peed on it. Then, because the smell didn't full leave, it got peed on a couple more times. We decided to try Nok Out after reading about it on this site and purchased it off Amazon.com. We soaked the spots that had been peed on, and soaked the areas around it then allowed to air dry and not only did the smell go away but there have been no more accidents in that spot. I also am a firm believer in Cat Attract litter. I add a scoop to each box when I scoop each day and it seems to help a lot.
