Ok...I have no idea what to do but I'm pretty sure one of my cats has worms. I just don't know which one

Isis went to the vet yesterday and I noticed the first worm this morning in her litter box. She was dewormed I think. Would that make them come out? Loki also has an obsession with using her box so it's potentially his. (I was pretty sleepy this morning and honestly thought the long stingy thing was plant parts).

I found the second worm tonight in Loki's box (both cats have access though)...this one I'm sure was a worm. It was clearish and I could even see its own digestive tract. 99% sure it was a worm. Probably almost 2 inches long!!!!!!!!!!!

What do I do? I'm trying to be realistic and stay calm...neither cat seems sick although Isis has lost a lot of weight in 3ish months. Both eat, poop, pee, play, drink etc.

Help

There is a simple solution to this: Just ask the vet for dewormer for both of your cats. If they don't have worms, it won't hurt them. And if they do, then you got the worms out! :D

Thank you! I thought it might be something like that. Why do weird things always happen when you're getting ready for bed and don't have the energy to mentally think things through? Ty TCS for the sanity

Both cats have been treated for worms going on a week now. I'm still finding worms in their poop. How long does it take to get em out? I asked the vet tech if I'd have to re-treat and she said no. I found a crusty worm on my BED!!! How the heck did it get there?

IIRC, I had to give Boots albon suspension every week for a month before his course was done. That was his initial dewormer for being a feral kitten. I never saw any worms outside of him, though, so I'm not sure about this. :dk:

I guess every cat is different in how they will heal. I will send prayers out that they get those worms out fast!

Actually, I think the albon suspension was for something else... now that I think back, I remember the vet tech saying that after she looked at his fecal, she had never seen a kitten with so many parasites. They weren't worms, though, they were coccidia.

Milbemax should have taken care of the worms. It's normal for the worms to be expelled from the body for a day or two, but if you're still seeing worms after 2 days you should call the vet and ask what they think you should do. They might want a stool sample.
