Which song can you just not stand to hear? - Page 2

Don't like most country and don't like any rap/hip-hop/R&B type stuff. Also don't care for current pop.

I'm basically stuck in the 80's lol. rockout.gif

The gummy bear song ARGHHHHHHHH

I have several songs right now that make me want to run away screaming.

Moves like Jagger- Maroon 5

Someone Like You- Adele

Pumped-up Kicks- ... dunno who's responsible for this one BUT IT IS AWFUL. mad4.gif

Pretty much everything by Adele I dislike. I just don't like her voice. I know that puts me in a minority, but I'm okay with that. biggthumpup.gif

I hate almost all new songs, any song with auto-tune is automatically terrible in my opinion, I miss the days when you could hear what the singer was saying. I have never liked pop but to be honest, over the last few years it's gotten even worse, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga etc. I love traditional rock, Zeppelin all the way! I hate rappers and all the auto-tune songs that are flooding the radio stations these days, I actually enjoy some heavy metal, if it was between Rammstein and Justin Bieber, give me Rammstein any day! laughing02.gif

In case you didn't know, auto-tune isn't just the effect that T-Pain and people like him have on their songs. That's actually an overwrought version of it. The regular auto-tune is used by a majority of mainstream artists today, in recordings and performances, to correct vocal pitch. The discerning ear can hear it, but if you're used to straight pop, it's probably all you know.

Skip down to criticism and you'll see what I mean.

IMO, it's the #1 reason pop nowadays sounds so flat and processed. Just awful.

I love Kate Bush..such a beautiful voice.

I cant stand Rock and Roll All Nite by Kiss.  There is the one radio station I tune into and that song is ALWAYS on.  I have grown to hate it.

I've never been a big pop fan and over the last 10 years, it has become dull as dishwater sounding all the same. As you said, the voices are processed and the music computerized.  I've been going back to music from the 30s and 40s, as well as bluegrass and blues because they sound so much richer.

Anyway, my least favorite song has to be... uhm... well.... you know, I can't really think of one.

I like all types of music, even if it's just a song or two in that particular genre. For the record, The Beatles are my most favorite band of all time. bigwink.gif And I do love the oldies - 50s, 60s, 70s, etc.

Haha...I'm almost 30 and I could say the same thing!  Not really a Beatles fan but I don't hate their music either.  I love most music stylewise; but I won't listen to most mainstream stuff.  I will listen to anything from show tunes (love them actually!) to rap as long as it's clean.  I listen to a lot of Christian music and we have one local country station I love.  I'm not a huge fan of the old time country; but I have to say I don't even get that annoyed when we are in Tennessee visiting the in-laws and there is banjo music on in every store or restaurant. wink.gif

I don't dislike the music; but I do wish I could get The Wiggles out of my head right now....  Tell that to my DD.

I find every Katy Perry and Lady Gaga song to be super annoying. Also, I love all types of rock music, but I've always hated ACDC. I always get shunned upon when I say this, but I just can't stand hearing their songs because they all sound the same to me. It got worse when I moved to the south... everyone loves them here.

I'm with JazzytheCat---I really don't like most music these days.  I particularly hate rap, r&b, and most country. (I do, however, love Patsy Cline)

There are 2 songs I abhor:  Margaritaville and The Pina Colada Song.  And now I have both of them stuck in my head doh3.gif

And "Every Breath You Take" by the Police.  It just creeps me out.

yeah.gif I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks of creepy stalkers when she hears "Every Breath You Take". DH likes Kate Bush, but her voice gets on my nerves. I did like "Don't Give Up" with Peter Gabriel.

I really don't like country, rap or any kind of EDM (electronic dance music, e.g. techno). The latter two are very popular with my students, so I just tune them out during breaks. Some of them find it funny that I'm about the only teacher who never complains when they blare heavy metal in the break room. Give me that over rap, acid house (or whatever it's called) any day. I'm hearing impaired, but that stuff still manages to get on my nerves.

A few weeks ago, I would have said Aqualung by Jethro Tull.  We listen to a classic rock station at work and they play it every day.  But I've gotten used to it.  So for me, it's Sultans of Swing.  I like Dire Straits, just not that song.

I'm not a fan of that Lazy Song either. There's a few songs I turn the station when it comes on - Firework by Katy Perry, new Lady Gaga songs, most of the rap that goes on (ughh I get stuck listening to it at work because my coworkers only listen to it. Sometimes I'll get one of them to put on the 80s Pandora station which is better than the rap!

I'm with you, LGD, I hate REO Speedwagon, as well as Boston, Foreigener and many of the 80's hair bands.

I love country, and most of the classic, more cerebral rock, like Rush. I adore Toby Keith, Garth Brooks and Montgomery Gentry they always write songs that strike a chord with me. Lee Greenwood too. I've met him (who knew he was SO tiny!!) and he's really cool. I also go for Lady gaga, she's a freak for sure, but I do enjoy her music, especially for running. Britney Spears music is ok, her new song "I wanna go" is great, until it gets played out. I also like Eminem (go figure).

I cannot listen to any of the screamer stuff, any Dub-step, and that song from the 70's, "Baker Street" for some reason that song makes me want to jam an ice pick in my ears.
