...can I tell you something special?  -  When I was a teen my friends and I saw Elvis at a TV show he was doing.  We waited for him after the show and he gave me a kiss!!      I tell everyone that to this day I still haven't washed my face!       Some photographer was taking pictures of the fans and Elvis said to me "you come stand in front of me shorty!"        Well that's my claim to fame!
Wait, what??!!...........  THAT IS AMAZING!!  holy cow, how cool is that! AMAZING, what a great experience, I can't believe it, how awesome for you, Elvis was/is so very smokin' sexy hot, how lucky you are kookycats!  fantastic :) I love Elvis, ever since I saw him from 5 yrs. old on (would watch him on tv in his movies), his voice/musical talent seems to me  was so overshadowed by his "persona", but vocally, he rules, such a beautiful sound from him came.. I still am in awe when I hear his songs, and how extremely talented he was MUSICALLY..

As for me, the song I can not stand to hear, is that song that Celine Dion screams on, from the Titanic film, the one that goes, "near, far, where EEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVEERRR YOU ARE..", ugh, I shut off the radio, horrid lol :)

anything by Rush, I cannot stand Rush :cringe: for current songs I don't like "You and I" by Lady Gaga, and I like most of Gaga's songs, that one might be too country for me :lol3: I listen to a little bit of everything tho, even country and rap :D

and, Karen, I LOVE "True" by Spandau Ballet

Aww, broken hearted at the country music hate. I looooooooooooooooove country!!

It's hard to pick a specific song that I hate because there is a lot. Basically 90% of music that's come out in the last few years. Paparazzi by Lady Gaga is definitely near the top of the list though.

And "Every Breath You Take" by the Police.  It just creeps me out.
I know!!!  It totally a stalker song!! :para3:
It really is a stalker song. :lol3:

From my generation...
I loved My Funny Valentine, until I listened closely to the lyrics.
"Don't change a hair for me,
not if you care for me...."
it goes on but the point is, this guy will be history if you change.
He's nuts. :dizzy: :lol3:

There are some songs from the Bare Naked Ladies where the tune is bright and peppy, then you listen to the lyrics.  They can be down right disturbing.  (e.g. Tonight is the night I fell asleep at the wheel)

I never actually knew its name, LOL. But there was this song they played on hold when I worked at the call center. We had to wait with the customer on hold until we got to Tech Support, and this was always the first song played, so I heard it about a killion jillion times. And it was literally the worst song EVER, it wasn't just because I heard it so often. I remember a few words. . .I'll see if I can Google it.

I like Simon and Garfunkel best, but mostly I like individual songs, not necessarily whole genres or artists.

Don't like most country and don't like any rap/hip-hop/R&B type stuff. Also don't care for current pop.

I'm basically stuck in the 80's lol. :rockout:

I have several songs right now that make me want to run away screaming.

Moves like Jagger- Maroon 5

Someone Like You- Adele

Pumped-up Kicks- ... dunno who's responsible for this one BUT IT IS AWFUL.

Pretty much everything by Adele I dislike. I just don't like her voice. I know that puts me in a minority, but I'm okay with that.

Playing with Jazzy & Ginga.
I hate almost all new songs, any song with auto-tune is automatically terrible in my opinion, I miss the days when you could hear what the singer was saying. I have never liked pop but to be honest, over the last few years it's gotten even worse, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga etc. I love traditional rock, Zeppelin all the way! I hate rappers and all the auto-tune songs that are flooding the radio stations these days, I actually enjoy some heavy metal, if it was between Rammstein and Justin Bieber, give me Rammstein any day! :lol3:

In case you didn't know, auto-tune isn't just the effect that T-Pain and people like him have on their songs. That's actually an overwrought version of it. The regular auto-tune is used by a majority of mainstream artists today, in recordings and performances, to correct vocal pitch. The discerning ear can hear it, but if you're used to straight pop, it's probably all you know.

Skip down to criticism and you'll see what I mean.

IMO, it's the #1 reason pop nowadays sounds so flat and processed. Just awful.

Running up that Hill by Kate Bush.
That song has so many parts that remind me of fingernails on a blackboard.

I love Kate Bush..such a beautiful voice.

I cant stand Rock and Roll All Nite by Kiss.  There is the one radio station I tune into and that song is ALWAYS on.  I have grown to hate it.

I've never been a big pop fan and over the last 10 years, it has become dull as dishwater sounding all the same. As you said, the voices are processed and the music computerized.  I've been going back to music from the 30s and 40s, as well as bluegrass and blues because they sound so much richer.

I've just read through this entire thread and I had a little giggle to myself. I'm 17 years old and most of the music everyone said they hated is what I usually listen to... but don't worry, there is absolutely no offense taken whatsoever, lol.

Anyway, my least favorite song has to be... uhm... well.... you know, I can't really think of one.

I like all types of music, even if it's just a song or two in that particular genre. For the record, The Beatles are my most favorite band of all time.
 And I do love the oldies - 50s, 60s, 70s, etc.
Haha...I'm almost 30 and I could say the same thing!  Not really a Beatles fan but I don't hate their music either.  I love most music stylewise; but I won't listen to most mainstream stuff.  I will listen to anything from show tunes (love them actually!) to rap as long as it's clean.  I listen to a lot of Christian music and we have one local country station I love.  I'm not a huge fan of the old time country; but I have to say I don't even get that annoyed when we are in Tennessee visiting the in-laws and there is banjo music on in every store or restaurant.

I don't dislike the music; but I do wish I could get The Wiggles out of my head right now....  Tell that to my DD.
