Good morning!

My question this morning concerning pay checks. No, I don't want to know how much money you make. What I'd like to know is:

How often  do you receive your pay check? Every week? Every other week? Twice a month? Do you receive a check or does it go through direct deposit?

When I worked at the paper plant, we got paid every week. Rick still gets paid weekly. But now I get paid every two weeks. It's OK because we always have a salary coming in every week. We both get actual checks; we have the option of direct deposit, but haven't signed for it yet.

Both my sister and BIL get their checks twice a month, on set dates. She said when they first started that way, it was difficult to get used to not having a pay check every week, but she's learned to deal with it and they don't mind it anymore. Most people we know receive their pay checks every other week.

DF gets paid weekly and its direct deposit. His work actually made people sign up for accounts at their bank if they didnt have a checking account because they would not do some getting checks and some not getting checks. Its all or none kinda thing. He gets paid on Fridays but we can 'access' the money on Thursdays, I dont do it though because Im phobic about overdrafts. So far they have chopped his pay periods about 4 times since going to direct deposit because out of all 4 people in the office they couldnt manage to get the paperwork done on time for the deposits. I have extreme issues with the people in the office...kinda one of those things where if you know it needs done..get it done no ifs ands or buts about it.

Where Dana and I both work for the same company, we both get paid at the same time.
We get paid on the 15th and the last day of every month.

When I did work I was paid weekly by direct deposit. Aaron gets paid every two weeks, also by direct deposit. :)

I get paid every second Thursday.  The money is deposited directly to my bank account and the pay stub is sent to use electronically through our office email.

At my other job I got paid every second Friday (same week as my current job).  Money was deposited into my bank account and the pay stubs were held in Human Resources for us to pick up.

I worked at a job once where I was only paid at the end of every month, and when I was on disability it was the same thing. I absolutely hated it. It's much easier to budget for 2 weeks than it is for 4 or more weeks depending on the month.

I get paid every other Friday. Today is the off week. I have always had direct deposit. . .if I get a check, I never find the time to get it to the bank and I end up running out of money :lol3:. I think I got paid weekly (direct deposit) at my first job, but that was so long ago I don't remember for sure. The way I manage my money, it doesn't matter if I get paid weekly, monthly, or in between. It all comes out the same in the end.

I get paid every other week on Wednesdays. All direct deposit which is good cause I'm terrible at getting to the bank. I also get quarterly top-ups...which are usually a month or more late.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
We do contract work, so don't get "paychecks." We get paid according to contracts, and we never ever have a consistent income. We always pay as much as we can ahead, and put big credits at the vet when we get paid, because often we're down to counting change before another check comes in. It's often quite stressful. :lol3:

I've just registered all my licenses at a broker dealer. What business I run through the firm I'll get paid on once a month, on the 15th of the month I'll get paid for the business done through the 15th of the month BEFORE. This is typical of the industry though. I'll probably fill out the direct deposit stuff.

DH gets paid weekly; by direct deposit.  It's much more convenient!

My last 2 jobs I was paid bi-weekly and got actual checks because they were such small employers.  I missed the direct deposit from the employer I had before that!  When I was working during college I had 2 occasions where I was working any time I was not in class and bounced a check!  I learned from it (and the fee) and signed myself right up for that direct deposit when it became an option!
