7 Month old kitten keeps chasing my 12 yr old and bullying other kitten and biting me

Hi

I have two 7 month old kittens one who has been very poorly and a 12 month old cat who really is the cat behind the saying scaredy cat. She likes my bedroom, i guess she feels safe there. I introduced two kittens 4 months ago and unfortunately my eldest cat was then poorly with an abyse and had to have an op, so they were kept apart, then my other kitten has been and is still ill on and off for last few months. The other kitten seems to have turned in to a bit of a bully and chases my eldest cat as soon as she moves, sits in her spots, and generally seems to try and intimidate her, i thought at first she just wanted to play but now im not sure. She is also very rough with the poorly kitten and makes her cry so i have to now have the poorly kitten in her own room when im not at home as she seems to get stressed which isnt helping her. The well kitten can be quite caring and wash her sister kitten but also seems to want to bite and claw me when i stroke her. This is a fairly recent change. Is she just attention seeking as shes feeling a bit left out, i have tried to give her more attention but she is so hyperactive and dont want her to feel left out.

Any ideas onhow to stop her bullying the small kitten and too stop her chasing my other cat out the room, house garden etc as now she wont even stop to eat incase the kitten chases her

Thanks

Have you tried Feliway diffusers in the house to help calm everyone down? When you say the cat is poorly, what exactly is wrong? The change of behaviour may be health related.

Are they all fixed?

Anyway, I think your kitten (the "well" one) is normal, just overactive. Does she have toys to occupy her or distract her from the other cats? You can discipline her with NO, hissing, and time outs. Pet her only when she wants to. Stop, walk away and ignore her when she starts clawing or biting. I also would suggest you keep the "ill" one away from the other cats until she is okay.

Reward good behavior with a treat. When you see her bullying or going to bully the 12 (month or years?) old, distract her with a toy or say NO/blow air on her face/hiss/clap your hands.

Hi Sarah - the change in behaviour is inthe well kitten, not the poorly one. the poorly one we still dont know whats wrong with her vets have done blood test, stool tests all clear :) I did notice that Izzy the nutty one seems a bit sniffly this morning when breathing. Im off to the vets on Monday with the poorlyo ne again for a check up so will see what he says
