So I've noticed I've had to take care of Mozarts left over mess after using his litterbox. Is there a simple kitten friendly method for cleaning up any of the caked on stuff? I've tried a very soft damp cloth but he cries when I try to clean it up....

P.s. He's already had 3 baths in 2 days due to finding a way to lay in his food dish and due to some messy movements.

It sounds like he has diarrhea?  Fight with this. Cats shouldnt have diarrhea as their normal state of poo.

Semi-hard sausages / bolls is the normal.  And possibly now and then, a rare variation of said sausages.

Are you sure he hasnt worms?

Try with changing of food?  You must perhaps try several different.

What food do he gets now?

Instead of bathing whole cat you may perhaps try to just pour semi-warm water on the bum behind?

Cats body temp is somewhat higher than human. So what for you is luke warm, for him is rather coolish.

Welcome to the TCS-forums

Good luck!

Seeing as his Mom was(is) some what ferral I'd assume worms to be a possibility, I've got his first check-up booked for next weekend (I've asked for a Deworming treatment in advance on top of shots).  He's currently eating Purina Kitten chow(Staple food), and Purina Grilled soft food as well. His movements appear to be normal, not unlike the sausages you've described. He just seems to not have gotten the hang of "Wait till you're done" before he's on the prowl again hence the occasional wipe due to a tag along...

Otherwise he seems happy, no distress while going and aside from one accident under my computer he's been using his litterbox like a champ.

Ah, if born to an outside going mom and not dewormed he probably does have some. Round worms he can get from mom. Good you are going to this check up and deworming.  :)

Strictly indoor moms are usually safe.  But for outgoing moms you should deworm both them and the kittens.

The other. If I understand you right (english isnt not my native language). these sausages hang on to the rear end by some hair?  And thus you get them at other places too. Not too mentioning he is trying to get them off, and thus leaves traces around...

At least, my residents do have this so sometimes.   :)

If it is a problem, you can cut down the hairs some around his behind. This advice is common enough if they are longhaired. But may sometimes be used for shorthaired cats too.

Good luck!

Well today has proven that he does infact have a case of worms. He's been peeing in his litterbox (trained when I got him) But now he is pooping under one of my End tables....... I think its been hurting him to go... today I had to quickly place him in the box as he was going and make sure he stayed until done. I noticed some worms so the guess was correct. I've made his new habit area as uncomfortable as I can by putting tinfoil on the carpet in that area.... we will see how that pans out for us....

if he carrys on with a dirty bum n its hard to clean off my vet suggested vaseline/petrolium jelly on the area after uv bathed him and it will stop the poo setting hard n it will be easy to wipe with cotten wool n warm water then re-apply the vaseline/petrolium jelly, its non toxic aswell so wont harm him if he licks it
