My cat Diamond is about ten years old, female, not sure of her age. She has developed a lump near her throat. Vet says that is inoperable, due to its postion. He recommended wet food, with water added.
Since her vet visit, she eats like crazy, and begs for more, and she has gained weight, but only in her stomach. She is very small, maybe 5-6 lb, but she has always been small. She has no muscle, all bones and belly. She also has diarhea. We are now giving her more dry food (Nutri source for seniors) mixed with the canned, and it helps the diarhea some.

From what I have read, I believe she has a hyperthroidism. She has all the symptoms, including a fast heart rate. Shes definetely not her old self, how can be balance out her diet and slow down the metabolism (constant hunger)? She has been eating, commercial canned foods, like Fancy Fiest. We are not in a position to pay for more tests, perscriptions, surgerys. We only want help extend her life, naturally. I read about y/d hills canned food and a supplement call Resthyro.  Anyone tried these?  Any recommendations for diet or natural rememdies?

I understand money is tight, but I would not start treating your cat for thyroid issues unless you are sure that is the problem. Would you be able to afford just the blood test to know for sure?

Sorry your kitty is unwell :(. I would not treat with any "natural" or "homeopathic" remedies until you have confirmation that she is hyperthyroid. I would go ahead and have a blood serum panel done on her. Then you can decide which way to treat, Western, Homeopathic or natural. Also, if the lump is on either side of the throat, below the jaw, those are where the lymph nodes are located. But, I would think the vet would know the difference from a "lump" and a "node". :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

No, we don't have $$ for any tests.  I may have the terminalogy wrong, yes her lump is below her throat on the right side, so that could be a lymph node.  Its about the size of an egg
