Does anyone want to join us on our cruise Dec. 3?   There's still time.

Why don't we someday have a TCS cruise?

Pam??     Are you game?

Where are you going?  We're cruising to Hawaii on 2/1/12, so afraid we cannot join you on your December cruise, but thanks for asking!  (even though I am not Pam
)  Hope you have a great time.

We're booked on a cruise in February out of New Orleans, and the time of the year I CAN'T get free is November and December!

I've thought about cruises, but I can't seem to get over my fear of being on water that deep. I can't swim. Plus even if I could, there are sharks out there!

Next year I wouldn't mind traveling to a TCS meet up on dry land though.

I say that all the time and I'm sure Lana would vouch for that! I can swim, but not well. And yep, there are sharks in those waters!!!! And it's a long way down to the bottom of the sea. I have issues with that....I really do.

I would try for a TCS meet-up, too. On land. If I didn't have to fly. (I'm just an all-around coward)

Cruises are really safe.  The ships and so big that you don't feel  thing.  It's like being at a luxury hotel, only on the water. (no sharks!)     And just sitting there watching the beautiful scenery is so relaxing.   And the food --- well you just have to see for yourself.   We're dieting now!     Entertainment is first class, Las Vegas style reviews, singers, comedians, etc.     The only thing that can get expensive is drinking and gambling, and since we're not big drinkers and definitely not gamblers, it's perfect for us.       We're doing the Eastern Caribbean,  St. Thomas, Nassau, Tortola and Antigua.  The only place we haven't been is Tortola, but honestly once you've seen a couple of the islands they all start to look alike.    Ships tours are expensive, but once you are in port there are tons of local drivers who will take you on any tour you want for a fraction of the price.   Of course the ships warn you not to do that,  but we've never had a problem.   Usually you can get a group of people together  from the ship to share a cab.

Now I'm starting to get excited.  Usually it doesn't hit me until we're approaching the port and I see those magnificent ships docked.

There's still time!   Dec. 3 - Carnival Freedom out of Ft. Lauderdale  -  8 days!!

That's cool! I live on the other side of the world, so I'll have to take a cruise (then a plane) just to get to your ship.

Cruises are really safe.
You know how they say you're safer on a commercial airliner than in your car on the way to the airport?

Well, you're safer on a cruise than at home sleeping in your bed!

Oh man could I use that kind of vacation right now! DH and I had such a great time on our cruise in 2006!  I really do think they give you the biggest bang for your buck.  Especially if you don't drink or do a ton of excursions.  I liked that you don't even have to worry about getting from the airport to the ship.  They can shuttle you and take care of your bags and everything.  Definitely helps make the trip less stressful!
