Okay, day three after surgery is not going very well. I am VERY worried, so what follows is my venting/concerns. Now, let me start off with saying, I am very paranoid about Loki in general. This I am aware of, just so you all know.

Anyway,  yesterday he ate about half a cup of dry food but not his mouse. He played with it and killed it but did not eat it. He also only urinated one time, as best I can figure. He normally urinates twice a day.

Today, before I left for work he did not eat his mouse nor his dry food. He played with the mouse and killed it, but yet again did not eat it. He ate about twenty pieces of dry food, before I left. But that was all. He is still drinking "normally" (it is hard to tell since he spills and plays in it). He is NOT dehydrated right now. So, that is a plus.

I of course called my "cat vet" and exotic vet ( the one I take the small exotic mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians to). They both think I am losing my grip on "reality". My cat vet said so, I work for him, so its fine
.

The breeder and my own experience with hybrids and pure exotics has taught me that they can just starve themselves to death under some circumstances. I have seen normal healthy Bobcats do this. Even upon necropsy, they seemed healthy. I really do not want to see my Loki go that way, but I know it can happen.

So in closing, LDG, Carolina, Feralver, Sharky and one anyone else please give me your thoughts.

Still praying for Loki, keep us posted. I don't think you're losing your grip, I think it is perfectly natural to be concerned and fret and watch and worry. I'm the same way, I guess that's why I think so.

:vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: Loki :heart3: and :hugs: for you xx

You and Loki remain in my thoughts.
Thank you very much
.

Loki
and
for you xx

Yea, that is why to you it is normal
. I tend NOT to be like that with the cats, at least in general. Anyway, I asked one of my friends to go over and check on him while I was at work. She said he was his normal insane self
. She got him to eat almost all his dry food, by the time I got home. She also said he urinated twice while she was around. I know he urinated another time while I was home too. So, yesterday ended up much better then it started.

Today, before I left for work he killed and ATE his mouse. I am also fairly sure he urinated. He is acting like his normal wacko self too
. So, all and all today seems better. I am thinking yesterday was just his normal "fasting" day. Which he has done naturally since about six months old.

As always, thank you for listening.

Otto (Can not find the hug
).

Hope Loki's tail is doing okay and that he hasn't "amputated" it.
Yea, so far so good on that front. But with him, one never knows. Thank you for your concern, keep the vibes coming.

I have officially become one of those people I HATE. You know, the paranoid animal owner

How did i just see this today?
to you and Loki... I don't even want to know what he did to lose half his tail... makes me wonder what Neka could get into... Anyways I'm glad he seems to be on the road to recovery... do you know how long it's supposed to be until the tail heals?

Your very lucky you missed it
. But, I am glad you saw it because, it shows what keeping this type of cat can entail.

to you and Loki

Thank you very much.

... I don't even want to know what he did to lose half his tail...

I am glad you do not want to know, since I have no idea how it happened
. I just know what I came home from work to see.

I hope less stuff then Loki. But they are always into something, Which is just insane or enough to drive you insane.

Anyways I'm glad he seems to be on the road to recovery...

Me too
!

It will take months, since he is too wacko, to aid in the healing process.
Please note, my responses are in bold.

If he was calmer, maybe. But, since he is ALWAYS whacking the wounded/amputated area, no chance. So, all the healing powers you want to send would be great
.  Today is one week since the accident.  So far, all is under control. That is all I dare say

Control, what is that
.  Yea, my hands sure are full. Thank you very much for those vibes. I do have a question for you, have you ever had a that had the last quarter of its tail amputated? Well. really had any of its tail amputated? If so, did that affect the cats balance? Also, Loki has stitches that will dissolve. Do you think that is safe? I am just so worried that he will re-injure himself.

Yes, I know, I am turning into one of those paranoid cat owners
.

So, this update is way over due. Anyway, after a year, his tail seems almost normal. The only difference, I can see, is, the color is not the same. Of course, part of the tail, is, physically missing. However, he seems fine otherwise.

Anyway, let me know, what you all think, please

Sorry, the photo is in the bathroom. It is the only way, I could get him, to be still long enough for a photo!

The next two photo's are to show, that, he can still puff his tail out, like a "normal" happy/excited hybrid.

One last question, he still chews the tip of the tail. Not a real lot, but daily. He NEVER did that before the accident. You can feel a "knot" at the end of his tail. The vets or myself DO NOT want to sedate him. So, I really have no idea what it is. Possibly, calcification/ossification of the bone.

I saw this post in my mail and kind of freaked out. Didn't realize until now that it was an old thing and thankfully Loki is fine. =)  His tail looks great btw, just glad that he's okay. :)
