Thoughts, prayers, anything.

They've been trying to file bankruptcy, they live full time in their RV, have two properties they cannot sell that are a drain, and after both had very long professional careers, their 401Ks have vanished, like so many others.

The bankruptcy trustee is convinced they have hidden wealth.

They were ordered to pay the trustee monthly and he was to pay the creditors.

Last night they found out that not only was their bankruptcy denied without them being notified, but the trustee, despite getting monthly checks from them, has not paid any creditors.

Their RV is now in forfeit, this is their only home, there are no buildings on their properties, just lots.

They have a very small window in which to come up with the money to reverse the forfeiture and save their home.

Over the river and through the woods...
Oh hon, I feel for them. We filed for bankruptcy twice. Once in 2009 and again in 2010. The first I think was chapter 7, where all past debts are "ok" but you still have to keep paying, plus pay the courts a certain amount to catch the past debts up. Which made NO sense to me what so ever. I mean, seriously, if we couldn't pay our mortgage and bills with full paychecks, how the hell are we supposed to pay the same bills with $650 a month going to the courts? We finally gave up and let the house got into foreclosure and filed chapter 13. We were lucky and were able to move into my MIL's old house (with $400 rent to own agreement) but if we didn't have that I don't know where we would have gone that would have accepted our crew.

Do they have anyplace else they could move to? The situation sucks but they may have to look for other options. Even something temporary until they get back on their feet. Many
for them. :hugs:

Here... or There... Hmmm
:vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: Wishing all the best of luck. Maybe they can produce stubs that they paid the guy, get a court case going and that will stall the rest. Then they can get the $$ back from him in a lump and it maybe might all work out. But make sure they call the place forclosing on the RV, and tell that what happened... it may help.

It is just so angering that people have to go through things like this!!!!! It's horrible and just unconscionable! How does this "trustee" get away with this????? Are there no County or State lawyer agencies that can step in and help? This is so wrong!!!!!

:vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: this can get sorted before they lose their home!!!!!!!

Well, they're attorney got back to them (amazing she was checking her email as she has the holiday off).

She said that hasn't been decided yet, hasn't even gone back to court yet.

The mortgage holder jumped the gun, and basically tried a strongarm tactic.

She says if they show up at my brother's house again, to call her and for my brother to call the police for harassment.

Thank you all for the vibes

Well that's something at least! More vibes this can be resolved in their favor. With all the regulatory changes, you'd think the bank wouldn't conduct themselves like that! :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

I am so sorry they're going through this. I hope it can get resolved and they don't have to deal with all the hassle with those collectors.
