I baked pesto covered chicken breasts and veggies last night, yum.

Tonight I make homemade pumpkin soup from some sugar pumpkins I cooked down yesterday.

DH is a great cook, and I've had a lot of fun over the last few months, teaching him new stuff.

I've taught him how to make chili starting from dry beans.

I've taught him how to roast chicken.

I've taught him how to make a cream sauce.

And I've taught him how to bake chicken.

Tonight, he'll get a hands on lesson in pumpkin soup.

That sounds delicious! Rick had to learn to cook when I was working and going to college at the same time; it was cook or starve. And our son is an excellent cook....largely for the same reason.

Last night, Rick asked me to make waffles; he's been wanting to try the Butter Pecan Syrup he bought at Stonewall Kitchen when we were in CT a couple weeks ago. So we had waffles with some sausage links.

For tonight, I took some vegetarian chili out of the freezer. He is bowling early tonight; dinner has to be fast. (I was thinking of delivery pizza tonight, too, Anne!)

Mmmm! Pumpkin soup....you need to post that in the recipe section.

I made homemade clam chowder tonight. So yummy!

I'm thinking about doing a butternut squash soup for the first time on Sun. My DH is actually pretty picky, though he would deny it. It is the reason I've never made it before, he makes a face, even though he's never ate any. I'm going to broaden his horizon! LOL!

I just used a very basic recipe I found online, just so hubby could get the basics down.

The soup was lovely!

DH quite enjoyed it and he is now thinking of ways to improve it as well as other non desert ideas for pumpkin, he's quite creative, once he's given an idea.

I suggested next time we add a sweet chub sausage like maple.
