in heat

ok im just woundering if ne one has had the same problem as me and my husband have had with our 1 1/2 year old calaco/egyptin mow .

 she first starte attacking our male nutored cat like cujo .so their for she was in heat and i got her spayed ......but that was 9 days ago ......

im at my wits end with her and it breaking my heart with her in a dog box ..how long does it last ?

why is she still attacking my male and will she go back to normal?NE THING HELPS

Well, I don't think 9 days is very long.  I don't have much experience with kitties in heat.  But I know in males, it can take a while for those hormones to subside and dissappear.  I would think the same for females. 

It isn't like an on and off switch.  If it was nine weeks or months, I would say there is a problem.  But nine days, IMO, is no time at all. 

Can you put the cat in a room alone so at least she can get out of the cage?  She probably needs to expend some energy too.  Although, a spay is a major surgery, she still needs to stretch out and work her legs.

When in doubt, call your vet.  They are the ultimate judge of your cat.  But I just think it's still very early to expect all her symptoms to go away.

I would say, it could take up to ninety days for the behavior to change. Since this type of behavior is both hormoned based and behavior (habit/pattern) based.
