I've had Myri for about a month now, and she and Rodney spend most of the time with both having the run of the house. The problem is that Rodney (who is at least 6 months older than her and quite a bit bigger) doesn't seem to understand that Myri might not want to wrestle around as much as he does.
After a bit of wrestling around, Myri either runs away (with Rodney chasing right behind her) or yowls. He doesn't seem to understand that those signals mean she doesn't want to play any more and continues. I've seen times when Myri has tried to burrow under her pet bed to get away from him. I try breaking them up, but usually within a few minutes, Rodney pounces again. I've tried a spray bottle, but that doesn't seem to deter him for long.
I've also noticed that he occasionally bites the back of her neck when they're playing, which usually causes her to yowl. Any ideas what that's about?
When he's not in a playing mood, they're fine, but it seems like he's usually in a playing mood when I'm home.
