As if I needed more encouragement to adopt another cat...

I mean, this is a great thing they're doing, but I've been trying to convince myself in the OTHER direction for awhile now.  But now that I could adopt a cat for half the fee...this is probably the wrong group to ask, but please convince me I don't need another!

My local shelter is doing FREE adoptions (on kitties 2yrs and up) because they are reaching full capacity after having done so many rescues (a lot of hoarding situations).

I have told myself, that I have enough kitties (for my preference) and having the amount that I have allows me to give them lots of 1 on 1 attention. Plus, it is a little less stressful for my resident cat (I just got 1 new kittie, for a total of 2).

I figure, since they are doing promos like these at different shelters, they will all find WONDERFUL homes as people may be more interested in adopting now (especially if they are reputable shelters).

It always worries me when shelters offer to adopt out cats for free. I think that is a risk and I think they should at least make it fifty dollars. There are a a lot of crazy's out there that would easily lie on applications.... :(. One shelter near me did that and I spoke to them about it and they changed the adoption fee to fifty dollars. If someone can't afford that, they shouldn't be adopting a cat anyway, because we all know the expense of caring for our babies :).

Anyway, if you can add another kitty and have been thinking about it, then half off adoptions might be the time :heart3:
