So, about a week ago my kitty, Oscar, was very very sick. He was throwing up, losing a lot of weight, and not eating or drinking. I was certain he had kitty parvo... but now it seems he's much better! He's still sleeping lots, but he's a lot more social and he's been eating and drinking lots; he even shared some of my iced capp! Thank you all so much for your support through all of this. I created this account for this specific reason and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

I only have one more question; can cats get the flu or a cold? And, can a cat actually fight parvo without having treatments or seeing a vet?

My other cats seem to be doing fine, as well. I'm taking Oscar and the rest of my cats to the vet within the next couple of weeks as we will be in a better financial state.

Thank you all again very much!!! Oh, and Oscar says thank you too. :)

Thank you so much for coming back to let us know. I'm glad Oscar is doing better - please make sure all of the cats get the proper shots, as these things can be very contagious. I'm sorry Oscar had to go through this without seeing a vet. You may want to take a look at this article we have -
When You Can't Afford a Veterinarian

Cats can get upper respiratory infections. It's not the same strain that humans get, but the symptoms can be very similar. Read more about Feline Respiratory Disease Complex here.

As for Parvo, cats can get a different kind of distemper - Feline Distemper - Panleukopenia . Again, visit the link for more information about that disease.

Hope the kitties all stay well!
