I had to say good buy to my 14 year old kitty, Maggie, this last Friday. We had been through a lot together, many moves, marrage and divorce, getting lost and found a couple of time, and finally living the life as a tugboat cat in Seattle. I am greatful that that on our last night she came over to me and layed over my heart and just purred.

Making the decision was one of the hardest I have ever had to make. Time, thyroide disese, kidney problems, weight loss, and hypertension had taken their toll. My vet was wounderful and allowed me to be with her to the very end.

It is so hard to know when the quality of life takes a dip and to not be selfish in my want to not say good by. And yet I feel so relieved that she is not in pain any more. And now my life is missing something very special.

I am so sorry for your loss. Know your kitty will return to you in the form of another cat, and your life will come full circle.

What a touching life you shared. It seems she knew it was time to say goodbye, and share her love for you one more time.

I'm so sorry for your loss, she was a very special cat.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you gave Maggie a happy life & lots of love for many years. I'm glad you were strong enough to help her find a peaceful end to her life, and that you were there for her. She's happy & purring now, free from pain over the Rainbow Bridge.

My sympathies for your loss. "When" is always heartbreaking, I too am glad that you found the strength to make your decision. May that strength help make that hole in your heart bearable.

I'm so sorry about your loss. You are in good company here.
It will take time to get over the pain and heartache. If anyone understands it's everyone in this forum who's lost a cherished kitty.

It sounds like you and Maggie were best of friends. I'm sure she is still there watching over you.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. The days are getting easier, but the tugboat is not the same place it was. I know it will get better with time. And, eventually, I am looking forward to having another "tugboat cat"

I am sorry for your loss.
What does a tug boat cat do exactly? Care to share any memories of your Maggie?
