Boots or shoes? Or both?

I love wearing boots during this time of year. Most of my boots have heels, but some of my "booties" have heels that are fairly low. I wear them with my jeans and also with my casual work clothes. I'll take boots over shoes anytime during the fall and winter. Last year, I had had knee surgery and the doctor told me to stay away from my boots for about a year or so, because of the heels. I ended up wearing a lot of clog-type shoes.

I do have a pair of Clarks bendables that are simple slip-ons and have no heel at all. I love them; they are a wine color and they look great with jeans. I'll wear them on Fridays because I can wear jeans that day.

What about you? Boots or shoes?

Neither....sneakers.  I need good cushioning as I have flat feet w arthritis.  So its either my barn boots or my sneakers.  I freak out if I have to dress up somewhat....... There are no good looking slip on shoes anywhere in the universe!  I went looking for a pair of penny loafers.  They are always in style with jeans or dress pants.  The girl looked at me like I had two heads when I asked where they were.

I do have a low pair of trouser boots that are just ankle high, with low heels, like an inch.  Dress pants come down over them so they look ok to go out in.  But we seldom go out dressed up so I am all set.

I LOVE boots this time of the year LOVE them...... even bootie slippers when I am inside.

What about boots that are flat? Those are really cute, the ones that go to your knees with some skinny jeans tucked in.

Boots.

Definitely boots. It really makes no sense since I don't have a thing for shoes, but I love boots and sandals...so I have several pairs of boots for cooler weather and 2 pairs of shoes for whenever I really have to bite the bullet and wear them.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
I was never a boot person. I'm short with chubby thighs, and boots were never flattering. Gary's mom gave me two pairs a couple of years ago that look GREAT with long skirts, and I LOVED wearing them when we had to head into NY for meetings this time of year. SO MUCH WARMER than shoes. :lol3:

But when we moved out of the house, they must have accidentally gotten packed into storage, and we have NOT been able to find them. :(

So shoes it is. Unless it's snowed, and then I wear my chunky slip on really warm snow boots.

ETA: I can't wear heals of any kind LOL, I'm too spastic.

Not much of a boot person either :lol3:. Of course, when I had the horse, I wore riding boots, barn boots and rain boots. I do think the rain boots are cute. I would wear them when I did dog-walking if the weather was lousy and cold. But since I no longer have a horse, I find I don't wear boots much anymore. So shoes it is, flats :D!!!!!

I love boots at this time of year. I love heels, but because of my hips I can't really wear them for very long. Ideally I need to wear shoes with cushioning to absorb impact. I absolutely love shoes though, especially high heels!

I used to wear boots all the time!  I thought they made my legs look good.  Then my job at one time had me on my feet a lot and I was also putting on weight.  I found my legs felt so much better in flatter shoes.  So mostly I do shoes now.  Plus thanks to having my DD I now have insanely large, wide feet.  I litterally went up a size and became wide.  Not fair!  None of my old boots or shoes fit.  I can do a few old dress sandals; but that's it.  So hard to shoe shop now!

I have never been a boot person.Even when we lived in NY they were not my thing.I almost always wear skechers....kind of a cross between a tennis shoe and a walking shoe.I work on concrete floors, and have had issues with my knees, and these seem to work for me very well. And they last almost forever!

Being on my feet in the classroom most of the time, I practically live in sneakers. I have a couple of pairs of flat or nearly flat shoes and one pair of really good boots, but they only get worn with skirts.

I wear both! Right now the weather is still nice enough for my favorite flip flops, but I know I'll have to "retire" them soon!

Boots... definitely boots. And not just because that's my cat's name. :lol3:

I have three pairs: some cheap houndstooth pattern rain boots, a necessity here, as it rains just about every day in the summer, which is March - October. :lol3:

The second pair are some dark brown "leather" ankle booties with a low spike heel and a strap decoration on the side. Love them! But uncomfortable.

The third pair are medium brown "leather" riding-style boots. Love these too, but they do hurt my heel just a bit if I walk excessively in them. But they're so cute! Too bad it's hardly ever cold enough to wear them....

I love wearing cute boots in the cooler weather months. I've got some fuzzy wedge boots I bought last year that I loveeee. Looking for another pair to switch them up with this winter.

At work I can't wear them though, because we have to have specific types of shoes due to the materials we work with, and they don't allow heels/wedges in the lab.

it depends. If I wear boots I like them to be functional. It seems that a lot of the boots that my generation wears seem to me like they're more glorified slippers. They don't seems to provide much elements from the weather and the cold. That being the case its hard for me to find boots that are cute but functional.
