Sneakymom- simply put I'm Sneaky Pie's mom

Our Sneaky Pie is a sweetie.

My email is mkbsmom.  M-mistoflees, S- sneaky pie, and the other 2 letters are the teenagers

I should probably change it.  Mistoflees passed over the rainbow bridge about 4 years ago and in that time we got HollyHeart and Jasper.

And the kitty names;

Sneaky Pie b/c I like Rita Mae Brown's books.  Well- at least I used to.  The last few books I've read of hers I've been less than impressed with.

HollyHeart- the kids named her.  We were going with a literary theme in the house and I guess there was a HollyHeart in the Warriors series.  It needs to be "mayhem" like the Allstate commercial b/c she causes mayhem whenever she's around

Jasper- that was his name when we got him.  At first the kids thought it was the "Jasper" from the Twilight series (and my kids HATE those books LOL).  His former owner said that because he purred so loud he was her "purr"- or Jaspurr.  He needs to be re-named "Wuss in Boots" b/c he's kind of skittish. Either that or something on the lines of the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of OZ.  I saw some of it on Saturday and Jasper was laying next to me.  Cowardly Lion starts in on his speech about "Courage" and I just look at Jasper LOL

Mine is pretty dull I guess- just my first and middle names.

My cats are both named for writers:

Annie for Annie Dilliard

Marcel for Marcel Proust

The one I use was my university ID assigned to me when I registered. I've used it every since them for usernames. But after I joined here I wished I had chosen a better one!

I have always kept and breed: exotic birds, small mammals, reptiles and amphibians. But I always loved cats. So, people always said I was a "cat person". I still consider myself a cat person, but not like many of you. Which is just fine with me
.

My sister likes cats, but doesn't like them in the same way as I do. I think she likes the way they're graceful and standoffish (some of them), but she doesn't have the urge to hug them. :lol3: You can still be a cat person without being obsessed with cats!

Interesting!  I went to Virginia to meet Annie Dillard about 35+ years ago - right after her book Pilgrim at Tinker Creek came out.  I was entranced with it.  I tracked her down, knocked on her door, and she graciously spent the afternoon with me - at Tinker Creek!  She signed by copy of the book, of course, too.

And I've actually read all of Remembrance of Things Past.  Haven't met Proust, though.

My user name is because I am Bastet's servant - and servant to all her handmaidens.  They make me work hard.  But, I am so devoted to this goddess and them, that I don't mind.

Nova is our first cat. When hubby and I first moved in together, he said we could have just one.

Now we have 4 indoors-only and 3-4 feral outdoors.

Well my user name is really basic.....Cheyenne+link= cheylink

Maia's name comes from the Roman Goddess

"Maia is the Oscan Earth-Goddess, and an ancient Roman Goddess of springtime, warmth, and increase. She causes the plants to grow through Her gentle heat, and the month of May is probably named for Her."

Her birthday is in May, and she gave me life!

It's my nickname

As to my cats:

Joji - my senior cat, named by my son when we moved in our present home more than 14 years ago. Joji was a feral living in the property.

Ichi, Ni, San - means 1,2,3 in Japanese. They're part of the 5 kittens I rescued (Yon (4) and Go (5) passed away).

Buddy - When I rescued him, he was with another cat - Ashley (in Rainbow Bridge). They were both adult cats. So I decided that all the adult cats that I would rescue from then on would be in alphabetical consecutive order.
I think that since the names Ashley and Buddy just seemed to have popped in my head, it's likely those are the names they wanted.

There's a dialogue in the movie "Puss In Boots" when Kitty Soft Paws talks about her being declawed and Pussinboots tells her that "cat people are crazy". That response was so totally wrong. No true cat person would maim their cat. Oops sorry if I am derailing the topic of the thread.

Peanut is orange-ish!
As for his name, my mom named him- he was hers before he was mine, one of her barn kittens. We call him Goober- back in the Civil War, sometimes people would call peanuts "goober peas". ^^

RAFM = Riley and Fred's Mom

When I first went online so many years ago, Riley and Fred were our only two pets and then I became known on my boards by that moniker and I've just never changed it.
