What does your username mean?

Thread Starter
I'm sure there have already been threads about this, but I don't think there have been any in a while. agree.gif I always wonder what many of your usernames actually stand for... I know a few, but many are just weird! As for mine, I joined TCS while doing the Thirty Day Challenge... a make money online thing. You're supposed to make a website and make a dollar in a month. I decided to make "cat behaviors" be my topic, and your supposed to use your keyword as much as possible. A part of the course was joining a forum on your keyword topic, so I discovered TCS. I love it a lot more than I thought I would! laughing02.gif Anyway, now I use "catbehaviors" for about all my usernames. I know it must sound really spammery. flail.gif

So what do y'all's usernames mean?

You can also explain what your cat's names mean too. I love hearing about those. smile.gif Wessie is short for Wessah, which means "cat" in Cherokee.

My username is just my online persona name.
Grimalkin means an old or evil female cat. Grim is 5 years old and male. :P

Love the topic!

Mine is pretty self explanatory. Our first cat was Esmé and she is an absolute princess, so I just did Princess Esmé.

We wanted to give her a French name and Esmé means "to love", "loved". Then we just adopted our new little guy and named him yesterday! His name is Naku which means, in Japenese, "to cry" or "to call - the sounds animals make (purr, etc)".

Mine is a line from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Kinda morbid, but... in Act III Scene 1, when Casca strikes the first blow against Caesar, he says "Speak, hands, for me!"

Julius Caesar was my favorite Shakespeare play in high school; I did my senior English literature project on it. In addition, I used to do a lot of creative writing, and I like the metaphor -- when you write, your hands are speaking for you. smile.gif

Boots is named Boots because he is a tuxedo cat, and it looks like he's wearing little white boots. I didn't name Kramer, so I have no idea why that's his name. laughing02.gif

Mine means The Magical Buttered Cat    lol. I think everyone knows the buttered cat paradox.  The combination of bread will always land buttered side down and that cats always land on their feet so in theory if you tie a slice of buttered bread buttered side up on a cat's back then when the cat dropped or jumps down from a high perch it will hover in the air spinning in place because the bread is trying to land buttered side down yet the cat is trying to land on its feet so the two forces fighting keep the cat from hitting the ground. LOL    I always thought it was a delightfully strange paradox so I use it as my name for alot of things.

Mine is my name...how boring!

My name is Celtic and is a variation of Arlen, which means oath.

I'm a huge Supernatural fan. Winchester is the last name of Sam and Dean, the brothers who hunt demons.

Nothing special.  When I found this forum and wanted to register I decided to pick a different name than what I had been usnig for more several years due to some bad experiences on some other forums. I wanted to get lost on the net, so to speak.  And since I like normal names, I just picked "Natalie" and tacked on "ca" for Canada.  My name is actually Linda :)

Bella was my soul mate and will always be my soul mate. When I joined TCS it was just Bellaandme.

otto: Just letters from Ootay rbheart.gifangel.gif and Tolly.

All my cats told me their names, I didn't name them. smile.gif Tolly took a week to let me know what his name is (or I was slow to pick it up); Mazy, Jennie and Queen Eva all let me know their names the first time our eyes met.

Ootay rbheart.gifangel.gif had been named by someone else, a name sort of similar to Ootay, but when I came into her life, she told ME her name was Ootay, not that other name, and so it was for the follwing 18 years.heartpump.gif

Over 20 yrs ago, when I first started "surfing the net", I joined AOL. We had a cat named Kiki at that time. We really loved her. I wanted a name that showed my love for cats, thus I chose CatKiki. I have used the name ever since.

Kiki crossed over the bridge about 8 yrs ago at the age of approx 20. I still miss her! She was a young, feral kitten when she found us. I tamed her and then DH stole her heart. She became a total people cat and loved almost everyone. Here are the only 2 pics I have of her now.

Mine is rather unimaginative - had to have an e-mail that localish horsemen could recognice and remember so picked sk_pacer: sk is the abbreviation for Saskatchewan and pacer describes my race horses. I have a couple of other names i use as well, both taken from horses I had, one for gaming and the other on long established boards that I have belonged to for many many years.

My user name comes from the manager of my beloved baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals who won the World Series this year by the way :-)  His name is Tony La Russa and I've always been a huge fan of his so I decided to use his name.

Autumn is a tortie as you can see and has the colors of the Fall and I like the name of Autumn, it's different altho since I've named her I have come in contact with others who have named their kits Autumn also who ironically are also torties.

Sneakymom- simply put I'm Sneaky Pie's mom catman.gif

Our Sneaky Pie is a sweetie.

My email is mkbsmom.  M-mistoflees, S- sneaky pie, and the other 2 letters are the teenagers smile.gif

I should probably change it.  Mistoflees passed over the rainbow bridge about 4 years ago and in that time we got HollyHeart and Jasper.

And the kitty names;

Sneaky Pie b/c I like Rita Mae Brown's books.  Well- at least I used to.  The last few books I've read of hers I've been less than impressed with.

HollyHeart- the kids named her.  We were going with a literary theme in the house and I guess there was a HollyHeart in the Warriors series.  It needs to be "mayhem" like the Allstate commercial b/c she causes mayhem whenever she's around

Jasper- that was his name when we got him.  At first the kids thought it was the "Jasper" from the Twilight series (and my kids HATE those books LOL).  His former owner said that because he purred so loud he was her "purr"- or Jaspurr.  He needs to be re-named "Wuss in Boots" b/c he's kind of skittish. Either that or something on the lines of the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of OZ.  I saw some of it on Saturday and Jasper was laying next to me.  Cowardly Lion starts in on his speech about "Courage" and I just look at Jasper LOL

The one I use was my university ID assigned to me when I registered. I've used it every since them for usernames. But after I joined here I wished I had chosen a better one!

I have always kept and breed: exotic birds, small mammals, reptiles and amphibians. But I always loved cats. So, people always said I was a "cat person". I still consider myself a cat person, but not like many of you. Which is just fine with me agree.gif.

My sister likes cats, but doesn't like them in the same way as I do. I think she likes the way they're graceful and standoffish (some of them), but she doesn't have the urge to hug them. laughing02.gif You can still be a cat person without being obsessed with cats! agree.gif
