no matter what wet food i feed my cat he always has diarrhea, i always transition slow so i know that is not the problem. right now he is on wellness grain free pouches, and bb kitten dry. when i feed him strictly dry his stools are firm, but as soon as i start to add even the tiniest amount of wet to his diet, they become soft and stinky. it doesn't matter what brand of we either, i have tried alot of them and its all he same.

I would say try a "low quality" wet food like Friskies (http://www.friskies.com/?DCMP=KNC-FRSK-Goog-2010-FR&HBX_PK=friskies&HBX_OU=50). You could also try, a "medium grade" food like Nutro (http://www.nutro.com/natural-cat-food.aspx).

I have noticed, from working in shelters and veterinarian offices that some cats do not handle grain free dry/"rich" dry foods well.

I don't know a Ton about this, but I have heard Auntie Crazy mention that when switching from grain to grain-free, the problems that the grains masked are revealed and thats what causes the diarrhea. I might try a grain-free dry first and then try out grain-free wets.
Or like Cat Person said, try a low grade wet first and then move up to a better one later.

Are you still trying to switch to all wet or just get Some wet in there?

i am not sure anymore, as he does fine on the dry food i feed him, but it is not grain free, where as the wellness wet is, so maybe you are onto something minka. is it really bad if my cat does have soft stinky stools, or should i just continue what im doing until i switch him off the kitten formula in a few months, i thought about switching him to and indoor dry when hes about 9 months, so maybe that would be the time to switch to a grain free dry?

Well. If your cat has soft stinky stools Forever, then yes that can be an indication of a problem. But when switching foods it is normal for that to happen.
If you do anything, I Wouldn't switch him to any indoor formulas. "Indoor" basically means more carbs less protein, which we already know is opposite of what we want in a food. It's basically a marketing tool. In all honesty, you could keep him on kitten food for the rest of forever if you wanted to. It'll actually be higher protein than an adult food, so once again, closer to the 'ideal' diet.
