Just heard something on our local news that made me absolutely sick. Some idiot took a mother cat and 4 kittens, stuffed them in a pillowcase and drowned them. Apparently it happened several months ago, but they just found the low life person. He claims the mother and kittens were dead and he disposed of them. But the person who found the pillowcase said there were claw marks on the fabric so they were all alive. What should they do with a person like this? How about an eye for an eye! Take the moron, put him in a pillowcase and drown him. I just want to scream when I hear stories like this!

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

That will never happen, of course. It's hard enough to find support for that concept in crimes against humans.

From what I hear, even though the laws aren't stiff at all, we actually have pretty decent anti-cruelty enforcement in place in Texas and they can and have given out felony sentences for abuse of domestic animals. Even people that don't care about animals welfare tend to support prosecuting these people to the full force of the law, as its been shown in statistics that people that are cruel to animals are much more likely to harm people as well. Might be a dog today but a child tomorrow.
They are simply cruel heartless people, and the animals are simply an easier opportunistic victim for them. I wish sentences were heavier, and ensure they are put on lists for the public to see just like with child abusers and the like.

It scares me that humans can do something like that. I believe it just means it's a matter of time before they harm another person. No compassion for living things is a scary thing.
Poor babies.

Also, the Albany, NY County Legislature voted Oct 11 to establish an animal abuser registry. This was the third county in NY (the only ones in the country) to pass this type of law. Suffolk County and Rockland county approved similar legislation.
Before 1986, only four states had felony animal abuse laws. Now there are four that have no felony provision: Idaho, Mississippi, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Nevada just toughened up its animal abuse law.
While many do walk away with a slap on the wrist, there is progress being made.

There is a site. Pet-abuse.com. It can track by state. I made sure my neighbor's name is there. There is a Wisconsin state senator (?) that wants to make domestic animal disfigurement ( or cause serious harm) a felony in addition to killing.

I have always said that you can tell the real character of a person by how they treat those who are dependent on them. That applies to how people treat children, women, and animals, among others. A person who would mistreat an animal will mistreat a human, so I can see that the punishment should be equivalent.

. Sorry for the mild language, the word doesn't.begin to describe such a being. There must be some screw loose to do that to animals. And you k.ow the sad part? If he had let those kittens and their mom live, they would still look at him with trust and that innocence that kittens have. That's what I said about the dogs that Michael Vick and his buddies tortured. Sick. The guy should have a recording of the kittens and mom's cries implanted in his brain so he hears them constantly.Ok, all vengeance aside....
I am glad, however, that animal cruelty is getting more serious attention. And not just cruelty to pets but for livestock who give their.lives so we can have a steak or.thanksgiving turkey. Thank you, LDG, for the info.

Anyone who does something like this doesn't even deserve to be called human.
Animals are such innocent, trusting and loving little creatures, they end up being easy targets for these cruel monsters!!!!! ![]()
