My two year old cat has been having bouts of vomitting for more than 24-hour period. Late Friday night, we noticed he had vomittied a small amount, but seemed fine otherwise. On Saturday morning, I noticed a new larger amount of vomit on the rug when I woke up. He is usually a VERY hungry cat, and when I fed him can food (his favorite) he did not eat it. Later on in the day he vomitted a third time, this time mainly liquid with a few pieces of the can food (however I did not see him eat very much of it so this was a surprise). Yesterday, his behavior was somewhat normal. He was a lot calmer than usual, but he does not seem to "disoriented" and is not meowing. I pressed on various parts of his underbelly and he did not wince or try to get away from me. This morning, (Sunday) he vomitted again with only liquid, and did not eat again when fed. Yesterday, I noticed his fecal matter to be a "blob" of diarrhea with a greenish hue, but since he has not passed any fecal matter, Only unirnated once in the litter box later in the day on Saturday. I am not sure if I should bring him to the vet, if this is not a serious concern ( as I know that it is normal for cat's to vomit on occasion) As previously mentioned his behavior seems fine, just is a lot calmer than usual (i.e. more cuddley and less running around). Please advise.
PS. we did not see him eat anything unusual or of concern. Our house is very clean, so I doubt if there was any loose string around or other foreign materials for him to ingest. We also did not feed him anything out of the ordinary. We did seea box of cheese-its on the ground with pieces scattered about, which he may have gotten into. However, I doubt if cheese-its would cause this? Also, cleaning supplies and other "toxic" things are in a cabinet which he did not get into from our knowledge.
