my BF and I make pretty much the exact same, as we both work at the same company in the same position. I get like .50$ more an hour, but thats just because I started a while before him, so we're on different raise schedules. But I have a pesky student loan and he doesn't, but when we get married, my debt becomes his, so it will be our student loan
(in the eyes of the government student bureau at least lol)

Interesting thread! I'm a married woman who works full time and brings the most income into our home. I noticed that I'm in the majority. Even more interesting.

Here... or There... Hmmm
I have been with my husband for 14 years, and other than a 3 month period without work I have always worked full time and always brought in more $$ than him. But he stays at home and does all the housework, so it is a great trade for me. Plus, I have to work or I go stir crazy!

I am a married, stay at home mom, that works part time out of my house, I think there should be a full time work PLUS option. LOL!!! My job is never ending. Here is an example of a typical day for me...

Awake at 4:30am to make coffee and have my 15 minutes of alone time. During which, I make breakfast for my husband, pack him lunch for side work, and make him a cup of tea.

5 am-wake the DH and DD-they can fight who gets to the upstairs bathroom first, I go back downstairs and finish getting DH's stuff together.

5:15-DH leaves, I help him carry his breakfast, and lunch to the truck while he carries various work items.

5:30 am-make SOY or Veggie bacon for DD, and some eggs.

6 am-wake up DS1 and DS2-again, they can fight who gets the shower first.

6:20 am-DD leaves for school, usually wearing my clothes.

6:30 am- DS1 & 2 have breakfast, usually waffles or pancakes.

7 am-the first 2 boys leave for school

7:15 wake up DS3, cuddle with him until he's really awake, check the computer and TCS, then my email for any orders.

7:30-make DS3 breakfast, eggs and bacon.

7:45 am get DS3 into bathtub, and put in first load of laundry, (which is right outside the bathroom so I can listen to him sing and play Diego in the tub)

8:15 get him out of the tub, and get him dressed.

8:15-8:45am, tell him repeatedly to find his sneakers and put them on.

9am-DS3 gets on the school bus.

9:30am-10:30 am-if the weather is good, go for my run.

10:30-check orders again, make products, and do more laundry.

noon-go to the barn to deal with the horse for an hour

1:30pm-get home, fold laundry, put individuals piles on their respective beds, make dinner

2:15-DD gets home, complains about how tired she is, and eats an entire bag of a random vegetable.

2:45 DS2 comes home and eats a quick snack, and sits to do homework.

2:45-3:45 tell DS2 repeatedly to SIT DOWN and finish homework.

4 pm-get DS3 off of the bus

4:15 pm-pick up DS2 from cross country practice

4:30 pm feed Kids, and get DS2 ready for football practice.

5:15 drive DD to work, and DS2 to football practice

(in the meantime DH gets home at some point, and eats dinner-DS1 is doing homework, and DS3 is reading to the dog or his daddy)

8:30 get home from football practice with DD from work

8:31pm-3 boys into PJ's while DD starts her homework, and eats more vegetables. DS2 & 3 go to bed

9pm-DS1 to bed

after that, at any point I do more laundry, chop and bag vegetables and pay bills. DH is in bed by 9-930, and I get to bed around 10...with any luck.

This gets modified as seasons change, so sports and practices change. I have had people ask me if my little guy being in school full time this year has given me so much more free time.

yeah. Now I can go to the bathroom by myself, with only a dog and cat with me.

I am married, work full time, am a student, and used to bring in the higher income for a short period of time. Now that hubby's business has really taken off, he has surpassed me big time! :)
