Ok, I really don't know ......

 

I keep seeing this notice about tags. What are tags and why would I want to use them? Are they for pictures, for locations and such?

 

What is Trader Feedback (found in Profiles)?

Don't know about the trader feedback, but the tags thing is something bloggers use. It's a search function based off of keywords. If you take a look at this blog, you'll see - under each blog it lists the tags, and off to the right of the blog part, there's a box that says "tags." You can just click on one of the "tags" and it'll pull up any blog posts with that tag. http://www.voxfelina.com

It's just a key word search function, and I guess the posts or threads can be "tagged" for searchability? dontknow.gif

Nope - on tags: You are actually tagging products related to the thread......... you can't create your own tags - you type, it gives you a list, of products who are advertised here on TCS....... Kind of same deal with the reviews, etc.... This helps TCS to generate revenue.

Yeah, I tried to add Lymphoma to my thread on Lazlo. I noticed all the tags are product-related. I came back here, and saw Jana's link to the tagging tutorial. You can't create your own tags here, and while technically they're for searchability, they're only related to products, not information. frown.gif

Yeah.... That's too bad.... It would be cool if it was for information.... Would be a cool/useful tool to have...

Pam, there are quite a few things on this new site I do not "get" anon.gif. Being new to computer/internet sites, since starting with TCS, I am learning as I go. bigwink.gif

Tags are something I plan on working on in the near future, as soon as we sort out the glitches and fixes. Tags are actually good, both for search engines, and for people, and will allow us to group together articles, threads and any other content relating to that topic.

Hang in there - there will be plenty more tags to choose from, not just product names! This new platform has tons of features that still need to be explored, setup and put into motion! bigwink.gif
