Ok I dont know where to put this but.. this is kind of funny and kind of gross at the same time so beware.

I have LONG hair. And I shed. I try to vacuum as often as I can but I get lazy, like most people. Well, Zoey ingests my hair from time to time.. since its pretty much all over the place, on the floor, in the bathroom.. wherever I hang out. Well, yesterday she ran out of her litterbox like a complete maniac with a poop stuck to her butt.... because my hair was mixed in with it (about 2 pieces of my hair) well the poop went flying into the living room and Zoey went flying into the bedroom to immediately lick her butt. So when I picked up the poop I saw some of my hair in it, which is why it got stuck to her butt.. she was impatient I guess and didnt want to wait for it to drop in the litterbox all the way before she ran out of there like a crackcat.

lol.. ok I'm laughing but its really not funny

Anyway, for one, I am hoping its not like string or thread where it can block up her intestines or whatever.. since hair is thinner, not sure though. So I guess I just have to vaccum more often? Dunno what else I can do.

Not to mention she ate a rubber band yesterday.. I found that in her poop as well
She drives me insane.
I try so hard to keep everything hazardous away from her, I have no idea where the heck she got it from!!

So that's my story of the day

String, thread, and hair can cause severe damage to the intestines. Hair being thin can lacerate the intestines.

I also have long hair (it used to be to my knees) and I know how hard it is to keep it on your head and not the floor! LOL I recomend brushing your hair twice a day and braid it as often as possible. This will keep the shed hair off the floor until you take out the braid.

Kitties seem to find every little thing we miss, try getting on your belly and looking at the room from her point of view. It is amazing what you can find!

Good luck!

Same thing happened to me with Ginza. Have long hair too, and they sometimes ingest it. He had a piece stuck to him with my hair, and I was only alerted when he tore up and down the corridor trying to get rid of it.

Yeah, I vacuum often, almost every day. I also add hairball management food to their diet.

LOL it is funny

I hate my hair braided, so that wont work. I'm going to sweep the bathroom regularly and vacuum at least once a week. Cats are such little trouble makers!!!

There's no place like home
I have long thick hair which used to break the vaccum cleaners when I was a kid. After her third vaccum cleaner, Mom never allowed me to brush my hair outside the bathroom, and after I did, trained me to pick up the stuff that fell on the floor and counters. It is now an ingrained habit, and probably best for my kids. It's not a bad habit if you can get yourself to do it.

Ok I just vaccumed, and every time I vacuum I have to cut all the hair out of the brush underneath..

Yeah I dont brush my hair anywhere but the bathroom. That's where the most hair is. I just have to stop being so lazy and sweep the floor everyday.

The cats only seem to be interested in my hair while it is still attached to my head!
Pan and Khepera are both hair-chewers.

We both have long hair, but wear it in ponytails most of the time, so our "shedding" is not as bad as it could be.

I have long hair and I shed like crazy. Hubby always askes if I shower with a monkey
because there is so much hair in the drain.

Luna plays with my hair, but only when it's attached to my head, it seems. She wakes my up sometimes, trying to "hunt" my hair.

I'm soooo glad I have short hair. And I'm sure Nakita is too!

Yeah, you have to be really careful with the rubber bands. They're really deadly and unfortunately most cats lover them! Nakita goes crazy over them and I have to keep them out of her sight!

Sicy, I saw some anti-shedding tablets in Petsmart. Maybe they'll work on you!
You could crush it and put it in your coffee in the morning!

My JB is the same way and now my son. The funniest but scariest moment happened the other day, JB got a hold of my tampoon
(an unused one) and was playing with it on the floor. My son picked it up and pulled at the plastic wrapper with his teeth. This I didn't know since I was in the bathroom but I heard the wrapper in his mouth and figured out the scenario (all this crap happens when I'm on the freaking toilet!) anyway, I knew a piece went into his mouth. Or so I reckoned. So I get off the toilet (after finishing) and clean out his mouth and don't see anything. I'm searching frantically for that little piece of wrapper. Don't find it. I start panicking and make my son eat some cereal and drink a lot of water to force it down in case he did swallow that plastic wrapper. The next day, I find it in his poop!!!!
Anyway....don't know how this is related oh, yeah somehow things getting eaten by our furbabies and furless babies. Hair is always a thing, I shed like crazy and most of the time it's pulled back in a ponytail. Anyway, there are some funny scenarios of JB running like crazy trying to scoot his butt on the floor (hardwood mind you) and me having to pull the poop and hair out!!!
LOL!

I think I have the perfect solution for you all with long hair that will solve all your problems, your cats and mine to.
When you comb your hair and as my wife does, sheds loads of the stuf - shes a red head - pull the hair from a brush or off the floor and mail it - TO ME!
As some one that has deemed it best to accept their lot in life and that I have nuclear hair ( no blast - just a stack of fall out) and had it cut to less than 1/4 inch - I will happily accept all donations to get it long again, that feeling of being able to run my fingers through my hair would be great.
The nearest i get to that is if I rub my chest - my hair is longer on that than my head. If carol does it I start to purr!
There - two of lives problems solved!
