Loki (my black cat who's in my avatar) had so much fun Halloween night.  When the first kids came to the door (dressed as black cats!), he ran down the stairs to have a look, and sat there for a minute. Then, he jumped up onto the card table where the candy bowls were, so he could greet the kids! The kids just loved it--a black cat for Halloween.  He has sat on the stairs before, though.

Anyone else's cats "greet" the trick-or-treaters?

Here's a pic of Loki during the snowstorm the other day:

Mods, am I allowed to post a cat pic in this part of the forum, or should I go to Fur pictures? Sorry if I messed up! (I was so excited that I can now post a pic so easily, without Photobucket, etc.!!!!!).

Very cute Halloween Greeter .:blackcat: Friendly kitty. My cats just hide, except for Pipsqueak. He gets mad when people come over :flail:

That's awesome!

We can't let anyone knock on the door because Freya has a fit after about the 3rd person...so we sit outside and hand out candy. For the most part, I don't know that my guys even notice Halloween.

Loki must be a very friendly kitty and not much frightens him.

Our cats will run when the doorbell rings, but as soon as the people come up the stairs into the living room, they'll come back out. And as soon as they sit down on the sofa or the chair, our kids check out their laps. Thankfully nobody minds having a lapful of cats. The only one who hides is Amber.

Although Amber is getting more social. I think the best things that happened to Amber are Mollipop and Tabby because they've brought her out of her shell a bit. She doesn't spend her time back in the bedroom anymore; she'll come out to be with us more often.

When Rick was in Oregon a few weeks ago, my BIL stopped in at night to help me clean Tabby's ears. Now, years ago, the whole time somebody was in the house, Amber wouldn't come out; she'd stay back in the bedroom. Now? She came out to greet my BIL and even sat on the sofa with him and let him touch her. He was amazed.

Our Phantom Kitty isn't such a Phantom Kitty anymore.

Tony runs and hides when the doorbell rings.   The only person he trusts, other than Paul & me, as my neighbor Fran, who is our kitty sitter when we go on vacation.  He knows he gets lots of belly rubs from h er.

Angel is friendly and likes people, but is a little more stand-offish than she used to be.

On the other hand, Tippytoes delights in company.  She races to the door as soon as  she hears the bell ring and if the guest ignores her she yells at the top of her little lungs.    She has some siamese in her so she has that loud voice.  When we go away and my neighbor comes in to feed the cats, Tippy pushes her way in front of anybody else who  is getting petted.  She wants ALL the attention.  If's hard to believe that a former stray is so very friendly - actually the friendliest cat we have ever had.
