I had a little trepidation about changing.  He's been getting Wellness Dry (Complete) for ages.  But I noticed his stool was soft and I started worrying that he was having trouble digesting it.  So I did some research, got B.G. Chicken, and I've been trying to mix it up so it's not too much of a shock to his system.

But he's picking out the Wellness!!!
He uses his paw and tries whatever the piece is that he's gotten out of his dish.  If it's the Wellness, he actually spits it out!  Then he tries again until he gets a piece of the B.G.!
Such a smart kitty!  And already, his stool is well formed and it seems like he's got even more energy!

So, I guess it's B.G. from now on!

We use BG chicken for our dry food... it is definitely a crowd pleaser here! Crumb did the same thing with his old Authority Sensitive... it took forever to get rid of the last of the bag, because he kept leaving it in the bowl!

I know!!!  Larry too!  I still have about 1/3 of the bag left...it's definitely going to take forever.  He is eating it, but goes for the BG first.  I hate to throw it out, because it's perfectly good and it would be a total waste of money.

Will he eat it if  you mix it a little with his BG? :)

BG Chicken is a crowd pleaser at my house too. Esme will kind of nibble on wet food but she much more prefers her BG. I am happy that if she is at least going to eat dry, that she likes her BG and drinks her water like she should.

Do you have any friends or family you can give it to? What about a local shelter? I actually always keep my extra food because you never know when someone will need it. I gave a can away to a lady who found a kitten in her flowerbed. An almost whole bag to a man feeding ferals. And 19 cans to my boyfriends family for their critically skinny cat. :) :)

The OP already said that she does mix the two and he picks out the BG just so he doesn't have to eat the old food.

My cat's will only eat the BG Chicken and the BG Quail canned. They all refuse any of the other BG canned flavors. So I do feed those two flavor's in rotation for my cats. :) They do love the chicken and go crazy for it :D.

Ha! Harvey will eat anything, but Crumb will only go for the Quail and the Beef, and only if I mix it with water.
Go figure. Sounds like Turkey is losing out.

Ooh.  Good idea about giving the leftover Wellness to a shelter or a rescue group. Why didn't I think of that?!  Duh!  LOL!  I know exactly where it's going to go!  Yay!

I was actually going to post a new thread about BG to get opinions on its quality.  I was buying my weekly stock of canned food and noticed it was on sale.  The ingredients looked really good, so I got just about all of the flavors.  Tried the beef with McGee this morning (Cosette had leftover Wellness Turkey).  It was actually really funny to watch -- they each ate from their own bowls for a few minutes before looking at each other and simultaneously switching.
Guess McGee's not a beef fan.

Before Grain is a great food. Very low carb, high protein and no veggies or anything. Only downside is the textures are quite different from most other foods, so some cats may not like them too much. Chicken and quail were the favs of my cat. Beef isn't very popular with cats in general.

Yeah, neither of my cats has really showed much joy with BG.  I didn't know if it was taste or texture, but they clearly prefer their Nature's Variety and Wellness.

I add a bit of warm water to the BG wet and mix it up... Crumb seems to eat it much better that way. He is a gravy enthusiast.
