I still can't post pix, either. dontknow.gif I gave it another shot in Cassidy's memorial thread, but to no avail.

I appreciate Anne & everyone else's help in rectifying these issues! thanks.gif

ETA: When I wrote my reply, it was normal size. But after I posted it, it took up the entire screen again. Just an FYI for reference if that helps solve the issue. wavey.gif

This issue was addressed earlier. Let me see if I can remember the steps.

1. Click on "My Profile" in the bar at the top of the page.

2. Click on "Edit Account Details".

3. Scroll down to "Forum Preferences" near the bottom of the page.
4. Click on "Constrain Threads to Constant Width".

5. Save

I think that's how I fixed it.

I'm not sure why you're still unable to post pictures. I really like how it's so easy to post them on the new platform.

Let us know if you managed to fix the width issue (following Goldycat's instructions).

anyone else having lagging issues, or site crashes when trying to post a reply to a thread today? I had no probs submitting a new thread, but when responding, the post hangs on "submitting content" or whatever it says. Weird

and of course, this one worked. What the heck.....bizarre

It was sort of like hiccups yesterday for me - some pages would lag, but then everything would go really fast for 20 - 30 minutes. Were you posting straight replies, or quoting posts in your reply? If the latter, clicking "Reply" makes it hang sometimes. You can just click "Quote" and scroll down to answer, or if you're doing multi-quotes, click that for the posts you want to include, then "Quote" rather than "Reply". Opera works a bit differently, though.

Same here. I can get to the individual forums, but they don't show any threads or posts, and I get a notice that the connection can't be made.

Posting this from Tapatalk, which is working fine for me. I'm sorry to see so many people having trouble with it. frown.gif not sure what we can do on the TCS side, as the feed is being generated in the right way and seems to be working fine on my iPhone. Has anyone tried contacting Tapatalk about this?

Hi Anne biggrin.gif. I am now using a new browser - Safari. It has been incredibly fast for me. Much better than IE and Firefox. I was still experiencing slow load times even after the ad block on Firefox. Don't know why, but Safari has been great for me for the last few days. I am happy2.gifbiggrin.gif now !!!!! clap.gif

anon.gif I can't figure out to "friend" someone? dontknow.gif Sorry, can anyone explain that to me. thanks.gif
post #219 of 230
The system here works with following rather than "friending". Here's a link to the relevant FAQ -
http://www.thecatsite.com/a/following-and-followers

Glad you found a good fast browser that works well for you here on the site! clap.gif

BTW, in the future, it might be better if you post questions in the how-to forum. Would probably get a faster response from one of the mods. Thanks!

For starters, the Moderators are all volunteers and we are not on here 24/7. Since I also know that one of the Moderators that you PM'd has had her badge less than a week, she wanted to check with the rest of the group first before giving you an answer.

Since we've had the new platform less than a month, many of the Mods are yet to be experts on how to do some of these functions. wink.gif We are learning along with the rest of you. smile.gif In some cases we may not have an answer right away and you will need to bear with us. wink.gif

If you go to the Groups area, you will see a blue button on the left that says "Start Group". Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the guidelines before starting a Group. smile.gif

You also have to keep in mind that many of the Mod team live outside of North America. You aren't going to receive an immediate response to a PM that lands in a mod's inbox at 3 a.m. or while they're at work.

How do I turn off the daily update emails? I really don't need them popping in my email every day.

Thanks!

Click "My Profile" in the maroon bar at the top

Click edit account details

Scroll down to "email preferences"

There is a dropdown menu there that will let you choose a few different options other than daily digest.

Don't forget to save your changes down the bottom.

I don't know if this was already mentioned, but I find that the new site interface is not as easy to use on mobile devices ( my iPad and iPhone). When I click on a thread, it doesn't always open for me, loading is much slower, and the letters appear with a delay as I type..not anything major, just feels overall less user friendly than the old platform...

The current layout is not intended for mobile browsing. A proper mobile version is under development, and in the meantime TCS is available for mobile use with the Tapatalk app. Hope this helps smile.gif
