Question of the Day Wed 11/02/2011

Thread Starter

Well, here we are in our brand spanking new forum!  So clean and shiny!!!

Since I have to be up extremely early tomorrow and probably would not have time to post my question tomorrow, here is my question...

What is your dream house? What would you like in it?

Mine would have at least 3 or 4 bedrooms. DH and I would someday like to be able to take in a couple of foster children that is in desperate need of a safe and happy home. I would also like to have a room for the kitties. They can have all their toys, cat trees and perches to look out on the world.

My dream house would have:

Located in the country but not too far outside of town

4 largish bedrooms ( 1 for each of my girls and I, plus a spare bedroom for guests ) with built in shelves/closet organisers/aquariums in the wall

LARGE kitchen with lots of counter space and 2 ovens

3 full bathrooms, 1 part bathroom

High tech computer room with areas for the 3 of us

A Home Theater room

A Cat Room for each cat with doorways into a fenced in area of the yard

Lovely gardens with fish ponds, very nicely landscaped

Horses and ample room for them, their stable, training fields.

Ajoining home for the maids ;)

Mine would be located in the country but close enough to a town that getting to the store isnt an all day affair.

4 bedrooms

state of the art kitchen (inside my head its AMAZING)

seperate laundry room

no dining room but one giant living room

probably a finished basement

and definately one heckuva state of the art super awesome garage to kick df out into when he bothers me lol

I literally have it all planned out. I just need the oodles of cash to make it happen.

My perfect house would be in a little town in the countryside, that has there own little butchers and green grocers :)

It would have 4 bedrooms, 1 for me and blaine, 1 or 2 for if we decide on kids and 1 or 2 for guests

A large sitting room with a log burning fire for the cold winter months

A dining room so I have somewhere to entertain guests

A large kitchen with an Arga (sp) and a normal oven also just till I got used to the big one haha all the mod cons that I could possibly want

Plenty of land around the house so that I could grown my veg also and have an area for some chickens

I would love to have  large house made completely of stone, right beside the water. There would be lots of land though, with barns and outbuildings to house lots of animals.

My dream house is the house we just bought, I couldn't be more blessed!

[One] of my dream houses would be in the mountains, 2-3 bedrooms even though it would just be the two of us and cats. Probably a log cabin style, with a HUGE 2-story viewing window and a lot of land. I saw some gorgeous homes during our trip through Colorado that I would have loved to own!

The house we have isn't too bad either though - 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1.56 acres of land. I just wish it were more secluded or in another state where it snows regularly! :lol3:

Enough rooms for DH to have one (or 2) for his toys, and I'd need at least 2 myself.

Far enough in the country for privacy, but close to town.  A lake or stream would be great.  Outbuildings, a few fireplaces, a couple of bathrooms, hard wood floors, land--lots of land.  An old restored farmhouse would be great!

I think above all, maitenance free and old-people friendly.

A kitchen, a large country-style kitchen. With enough room for all of my cookbooks, a large pantry closet, a dough and pastry area large enough that I can roll out doughs, a large kitchen island, and great big windows that will give me plenty of natural light. Lots of counter and cabinet space. And a fireplace.

A renovated bathroom.....no tub, just a huge walk-in shower.

And a three-vehicle garage.

Pre-1940 Craftsman or Victorian on a (littler) island, with ferry access!

A cottage in the Scottish countryside - preferably The Highlands.  3 bedrooms, smallish, nice size kitchen, where there's room to cook up a storm and sit and eat.  Also, a wee dining room, fireplace in the livingroom - very cozy, warm place.

I would want an older style home in the country, with 4 bedrooms (1 for me and hubby, 2 for the kids I want to have someday and a guest room), at least 2 bathrooms, large living room, large eat-in kitchen with lots of counter space (and a dishwasher) and a finished basement that I could turn into a games room. I have air hockey and fooseball tables that are just being stored in my un-finished basement right now. It would also have to have a large backyard for the dogs to run around.

OH MY dream home!!!!  A few extra bedrooms so I could take in foster kitties.  A huge play room for my cats loaded with cat trees, toys and scratching toys.  An indoor workout room with mirrors and a sound system.  A three car garage so hubby could get an older classic car.  Lots of property to have horses on.  OH and a big huge Hot tub clover_smile_ani.gif

My dream home would be back in San Diego where I lived in the 70's.  I would love a huge ranch style house with a huge bedroom and bath.  I like an open room house so you don't feel blocked in any one room.  I guess we can all dream.

A modern ranch with either two or three bedrooms.  One for me, one for an office, and one for a guest room.  The guest room would be optional, seeing as I don't often have guests!
A big, big, BIG kitchen with a double sink.  Dishwasher and disposal is a must!

Two fulls baths and one 1/2.  One full bath adjoining the master bedroom.

A big fenced in yard so I can finally have a dog or two!  :)

An attached garage -- one or two car would be fine with me.

Must have a basement -- I am in tornado alley, after all.

Tons of cat houses, scratchers, trees, toys, etc. so I can take in more kitties. <3

A nice big desk with loads of drawers.  The desk I'm using now is pretty crappy.

A really great coffee maker.  I have a tiny one at the moment.

Tons of wall art from Target. :)

A hot tub!

I love the house that we have now--- but if I could change a few things it would be a bigger kitchen with a big window.  Ours is just a small work kitchen, but works ok for us, but maybe if I had a bigger one I'd do more cooking!   Also we don't have a patio and would be nice to have a nice big screened in patio (or a lanai  as they call them here in SW Fl.)    But I am grateful for what we have!!!

I love where we live now.  We have 5 acres in the middle of nowhere (going to the grocery store really is an all day affair lol) overlooking the ozark mountains, and we are off the highway on a dead end road with only 4 other families spread out over a mile.  I like our house, I just wish the kitchen was bigger with more cabinet and counter space.  I also wish we had one more bedroom.  Otherwise, it's great.  We have a large living room, good size bedrooms, and a full length covered porch on the front of the house and one on the side also.  Oh, I do wish we had a garage, or at least a covered something to park our cars.  We have a nice big shop, but my DH's business is in it.

I would love to live on a small farm, where all I hear are the sounds of animals and crickets! Where Maia and I rub.gifcould sleep in peace when we want, and people respect one another, that is if I would have to even worry about thathappy2.gif
