So today I was petting Molly my pregnant foster, and I noticed fleas. She went to the vet last Wednesday, the vet guessed she would have her kittens in about 10-14 days from then. So she has about a week maybe two before she has her kittens. With her being so close I don't know if I should give her a bath with dawn or if that would be too much stress or if I should just pick them out as I see them. My biggest concern is her kittens getting them once they are born.

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

Frontline plus is safe for pregnant and nursing (lactating) cats. Check with your vet first, of course, but I'm sure it will be okay (and wise) to treat her with frontline plus, now, before the babies come.
And wash all bedding, and vacuum vacuum vacuum, to remove all traces of them before the kittens get here!

Amen to what Otto said... check with your vet. Cut up those OTC flea collars and put them in the vaccuum dust collector or vaccuum bag to further kill the little blood suckers... but NOT NOT NOT on the cat.
If you have carpeting and/or upholstered furniture - another possibility is diatomaceous earth or DE - food grade. It's what is known as a mechanical insecticide or parasite killer... it is a safe powder ...you can get it on Amazon.. .but make sure as I said that is is FOOD GRADE.
It is a little like sprinkling flour on things... so you should be forewarned about that.

Well she is being kept in the bathroom because she is not taking to the litter box like I want her to, and it is just easier to clean up tile over carpet. So the environment shouldn't be hard to clean luckily. Plus she likes to spend all day in the tub rather than the bedding I have set up on there for her. I will treat my house for them just in case because she has been allowed out for supervised free time before I noticed the fleas. I couldnt find any on her until now,if there are any in the house I am catching it early and can take care of it before it becomes an infestation. I know from experience of living with a roommate who had an indoor outdoor cat without flea preventatives, just how hard it is to get rid of those pesky things, especially when they become an infestation like we had to deal with.
I will call my vet in the morning and see about getting her some frontline. Then hopefully I can have the fleas gone by the time her babies arrive.
