You Would Be Sooo Proud

Turtle has been the most patient and attentive nurse EVER!! Just when I didn't think she could amaze me anymore, she does.
I've been laying around a lot since I've been home. Turtle has left my side only to use the litter box. She now spends the whole night with me when we go to bed. And "insists" on laying her head on my chest; over my heart.
When we play fetch she isn't as persistent about it as before. She lets me rest after 15-20 minutes.
I'm also on pain medication. The doctor told me to take it regularly BEFORE the pain started, so it would be more effective. I keep the bottle on top of my dresser.
These past couple of days I've noticed that within 1/2-1 hour before it's time, Turtle just sits and stares at the bottle! Do you think that she's got the schedule figured out?? Oh I'm probably imagining it.Or am I??????????
She is just the love of my life.
We have only been together about 5 months. I think back on those months and remember how stand-offish she was then. I thought that the best I was going to be able to do was provide shelter and security for this wild little girl.
She was taking notes on me during that time. Sensing and remembering how I reached out to her. Now, she is giving it all back to me PLUS so much more.
Every moment with her is a gift. Oh Turtle dove, I love you!!

Sooo sweet!!
Animals are really amazing eh? She probably knows when it's time to take your meds, they clue into stuff like that pretty fast sometimes. This story really touched my heart!! You're both very lucky to have each other.

Cheryl, I didn't realize you were home!
Sounds as if Turtle missed you terribly. It's just heart-warming to read how the little nurse is watching out for you
Sending many healing your way; welcome back, sweetie!

Little Turtle Nightingale. I don't think you're imagining that she's got the schedule figured out. Jamie gets his flavored heart pill at 6 p.m. and reminds me that it's time. Maybe she thinks of it as time for Mom's treat?

I am SURE she knows your schedule.

And just... It's been an amazing journey, and just... awwwwwww......... (along with being IN awe at how amazing our kitties are - especially your Turtle Dove, who is SUCH a gift!!!!)

Such a wonderful story! Cats definitely have that certain instinct and can key into your feelings, emotions and needs. She needs you and you need her! What a wonderful combination.

Please keep us posted on her care for you --- and take care of yourself!!

That is so special, what your and Turtle's relationship has become. I do remember when she first came to live with you, you were convinced she'd never be the affectionate lovey kitty you needed and wanted. I knew she would show her love sooner or later, and she certainly has now! You're lucky to have each other. Do you keep in touch with your friend who had Turtle before he moved? I'm sure he heart would be so warmed by how Turtle's been the ultimate loving nurse to you.

Thanks for remembering those few awkward weeks. Unfortunately the last conversation I had with my friend was a little sad. He revealed to me that after he adopted Turtle, he realized he didn't want her!! He just didn't have time for a cat. He had seen the bond I had with Bella and that's what he thought he wanted too. He just wasn't motivated to work on that bond with Turtle..Turtle and I are the ones who win in this situation so there's nothing sad about any of it. Turtle is home now.

She knows, never doubt it. I think Turtle was always meant to be with you Cheryl. It just happened in a round about way. Your friend was just the means to keep her safe for you, until the time was right.

There was Bella, your soul mate, of course, and she was yours and you hers, and though I know Bella and Turtle knew one another, Turtle had to bide her time. Then you rescued the other little one...Emmy? And she needed you for a little while.....so Turtle had to wait just a bit longer. But now you are together, and the bond will just keep getting stronger and deeper.

Love to you both.
