Casper - the foster baby

Last weekend Casper ran up to me out of the blue as I got out of my house and started rubbing against my legs and meowing. I picked him up and he just would not stop purring. In our neighborhood he was running from house to house begging for attention. Casper is about a year old, neutered and loves people; it is evident that he was at one time owned by someone but all attempts at locating his family yielded no results. I am currently fostering him for a month for a local foster-based rescue. He is a cuddlebug who wants to climb up on our lap and lie there.

Cuteness Warning !!!!!!!! OH my goodness, he is a very, very handsome boy . How could anyone resist him .... Again, I am so glad this worked out for him finding you and your DH. Hope Calvin and Hobbes are semi getting used to the smell of a newby in the house (behind closed doors, of course). He really is a gorgous silver tabby .

Sounds like Casper has chosen you! Can you possibly keep him? I think he wants your home to be his forever home.

That's how Angel and Tippytoes came to us. They were both strays living in the woods and decided our house is the best place to be. Good choice on their part!

Thanks, everyone. The boy is mostly well behaved. He was sitting on my lap and let me trim his nails and today when Hobbes accidentally went into Casper's room, the two checked out each other and touched nose multiple times.

@ Lauren - Calvin is hissing away to glory - he's just that way. Hobbes is super curious and accidentally got into Casper's room today. They checked each other out and touched nose about 5 times. It took a lot of effort to get Hobbes out and even more effort to not give in to his begging to let him back in.

@ Mike - we think he is/ was someone's baby too but have had no luck finding them. The vet said he was more or less well taken care of but a little skinny. But he had very rough paw pads - so he was out for a while or was an indoor/ outdoor. With the economy the way it is, there are just so many pets being abandoned in the Cleveland metro area.

@kookycats - unfortunately with our rental arrangement we cannot keep him. This is a no-kill foster based shelter and if Casper does not get adopted in a year, he is coming back to stay with us when the lease is up - provided he gets along with Calvin and Hobbes.

When Casper and Hobbes met today due to the human's incompetence.

He is beautiful. I am glad you took him in and I hope someone falls in love with him soon.

Thanks, everyone! Yes, he is a gorgeous boy and looks very unique. DH says that there is a different kind of innocence on his face. I hope and pray he gets his forever home soon.

:lol3: :lol3: OH look how small Casper is compared to Hobbes !!!!!! Hobbes is looking on in the second picture as if to say "WHAT IS THE HECK IS THIS!!!!!" Hobbes sure seems to like Casper. Thanks so very everyone! He is gorgeous. There's been no interests yet that I know of but I know I have to be patient. I just hope and pray that Casper gets a good home.

@ Lauren: He is actually longer than Hobbes but Hobbes has more meat on him. Hobbes is very even tempered and he likes Casper and wants to groom him, though Casper is not too accepting of that. I know it will be hard but I just cannot adopt him now and I tell myself that this is the best solution for everyone.
