I always felt a little ashamed when I couldn't remember what JoJo and Jack's Gotcha days were. I know JoJo is in February and Jacks'
was about 6 weeks after her. But Portia? I will always remember that one. The day before Halloween.
So, Happy Gotcha Day my (not so) little dilute tortie ball of squeak. One year ago today, I had a friend pick me up and take me out to the Petsmart way out on the West side near Beaverton. You had been abandoned, dropped off at the county shelter, then Cat Adoption Team took you off their hands in the middle of kitten season... you were a scared and timid adult, but their assessment of your purrsonality was dead-on... you LOVE "helping" me (by standing right behind my feet in the kitchen and making me nearly fall... and folks wonder why I say "shoes off" in my home). Within 12 hours of setting you up in the bathroom, you flopped over and let me pet your belly. I knew I made the right choice.
Now, you jump up on my side table and tap me with your paw to get attention... lick my bare shoulder when I'm trying to sleep... you still don't like being groomed... but you're still a sweet lovey little girl. I love giving you an ear massage and then watch you as you 'shake it off' so hard your front paws come off the floor.
You are a lovely little goofball, and even though your big sister still gets grumpy with you sometimes, I know she loves you, too.
