My cats absolutely LOVE this, and won't eat their formerly favorite 9 Lives anymore. They are especially crazy about the chicken and liver and beef and liver flavors. It appears that this is a pretty good quality. I don't see grain among the ingredients. Cost is $.50/can at my store.

The only problem is that it isn't carried in all grocery stores. It is only carried at Save Mart in my location (Fresno area) and Save Mart is a local chain. None of the other stores listed are in my area.

Has anyone else tried this?

The good news is that Dusty is much healthier than she has been in years. She was diagnosed with CRF about 4 yrs. ago. She went through a period a year ago when I thought she was about to die. She had lost so much weight that you could feel every bone in her body, and her fur was falling out.

I'm happy to report that she has rebounded. She has gained weight, and her fur is full again and is back to her healthy color of charcoal grey and white. When she was so sick it turned to almost a redish brown color. She is also more active now and it is apparent that she is feeling much better. I'm not saying that she is fully recovered from CRF, but she is definitely much better than she has been in 4 years. She is eating close to 2 cans of Paws a day, and it obviously agrees with her.

I can't find any ingredient lists on their website. . .but I think it looks similar to my grocery store's store brand pet foods. Which is to say, their canned cat food isn't half bad. It does have a lot of meat by-products, of course, but no artificial colors or flavors, no added sugar, and minimal grain ingredients (some flavors have rice flour, but it's not too high on the list). Better than 9 Lives, IMO.

But their dry food is awful. I won't feed it to my ferals.

So it just goes to show what you find when you read the ingredients, not just look at the brand name. Glad to hear it agrees with your kitties!

Looking at a can of Beef & Liver Dinner, ingredients are:

Meat by-products, poultry by-products, sufficient water for processing, beef, animal liver, fish, guar gum, salt, potassium chloride, carmel, choline chloride, vitamins, (vitamin E, A, D3, B12 supplements, thiamin, mononitrate, niacin, d-calcium pantothenate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, folic acid, biotin), minerals (ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, copper proteinate, manganous sulfate, potassium, sodium selenite), tricalcium phosphate, carrageenan, taurine.
Guaranteed analysis: Crude Protein (min.) 10.0%, crude Fat (min.) 5.0%, crude fiber (max.) 1.5%, moisture (max.) 78.0%, Ash (max.) 2.5%, taurine (min.) 0.05%.

I don't know what all that means, but my girls LOVE it! I just wish that more stores carried it.

Our cats love it, too, but my husband can't remember where he bought it. Purdy is not doing well, has lost a lot of weight because of an infected tooth. He's too old for surgery. Antibiotics were working, but when we finished the dosage length, it started in again. He ate that food even when the tooth was at it's worst. They don't like Whiskas, Sheba, or Meow Mix-wet at all. Now they don't really like Friskies or their usual Fancy Feast. I'm going to see if they list vendors on their websit.

Paws Premium is a Topco private label store brand. Here in my area they are at Winn-Dixie and Super 1/Brookshire. Here's a map of their grocery chains where you can find their products. http://www.topconationalbrands.com/

I picked up a few cans of these at my local Winn-Dixie since I was almost out of my usual Fancy Feast and didn't have time to make a special trip to Pet smart and didn't want to pay .65 a can. This was .50 a can and had low expectations because my cats usually turn their nose up at store brands. They loved this. I feed the Fancy Feast wet for my diabetic cat who can't have any grain. The flavor I got (fish and shrimp) had no grain or gluten just like the FF classic varieties. Unlike other store brands they look and smell a lot like FF too. They are now jostling to luck the cans. What a surprise!

Hi! I hope your kitty is doing well. Great to hear of a good improvement. I found Paws Premium at a Price Chopper store. I am hoping to have them offer more than just 4 kinds. Two are fish and the other two are turkey & giblets and mixed grill. The cans are the large size and cost about .89 cents each. I hope this will help someone else. My cat loves the flavor and gets all excited at meal time. Enjoy the love!
