Microwaveable disks to heat cat bed

Does anyone know where, other than online, I can get those disks that you heat in the microwave and put under the kitties beds to keep them warm?

Barney Fife is in the garage workshop and it's going to get colder this weekend. It does not get below 40 in there, especially this time of year. Probably will be in the high 50s. Its insulated very well. But I want him nice and cozy in his little bed that I made for him.

Thanks.

Amazon has em.

You may not need it though. We have one of these and they seem to work great: http://www.amazon.com/Slumber-Pet-Th...661186&sr=8-12

Not as warm right off the bat as one you can nuke, but after kitty lays on it almost all their own high body heat is reflected right back at em so once it gets warm it stays warm. That way its always ready and doesn't cool off over time. Can be tossed inside an enclosed cat bed (the kind with a dome), which also helps keep some of the heat on em. Aesthetics aside, even a properly sized cardboard box is fine to put the self-heating pad in.

They are called Snugglesafe and Petsmart carries them.

Does the garage workshop have a functioning electrical outlet? You might want to use heat tape instead. Keeps it warm all the time.

Might as well just buy a plugin purpose built one then, rather than juryrig something not made for that, no? Heat tape is meant more for pipes I think. *shrugs*

And solar pool covers are meant to cover pools, but they make great additional protection for feral housing in winter.

Heat tape's a lot cheaper and helps keep things above freezing: it doesn't make the cat - that has to head back out into potentially very cold weather - hot.
