Hi Everyone!

For some reason Bandit hasn't been burying his poo- ever- It smells bad and I wonder if there is anything I can do to get him to? It smells so bad

You could train him to use the toilet instead of the litterbox

Turtle does the same thing!! OMG!! She poos and then dashes away. She wants to get away from the scene of the crime quickly. If Bella was here she'd go and cover it up for her, but it's left to me to do.

Is it well formed, just smelly - and by smelly, do you mean really truly smelly? The reason I ask, is sometimes a digestive upset, or food that disagrees with them, can cause really smelly poo. My guy had horribly smelly poo on one food, but in his case Nutro really made a change in the odor, and he's ok on Hill's CD as well.

But, let's say all is well - my boy rarely covers anything. I've read that sometimes it's a form of establishing dominance, or also that some cats just don't cover.

Maybe they are like my little princess. She hates to get her paws dirty. She uses the wall, the rug anything but the litter to try and cover hers up. She will spend 5 mins scratching the wall, looking at it and scratching the wall again.

I have changed litters and everything nothing seems to work. I even tried shredded newspaper because I thought maybe it was a texture issue with her. Nope. So now I just listen for the pounding on the wall go in with the scoop cover it and she is like thank you slave you have done well and leaves.

slave yep. that is what we are lol

Bandit does scratch the wall-- but it can't be he hates to get dirty, he got outside the other day and rolled in a mud puddle just for kicks and giggles I suppose.

Oh and another thing. Down in the cellar I have one of the automatic litter boxes as I don't go down there much during the day. Maybe you could try one of those it will bury it for you

I would use one upstairs but where I keep the litter box it wont fit. So I am the upstairs auto kitty litter scooper. lol.
