But, now he has to go on a bit of a diet
... His triglycerides were 200
. Should be below 160. He has a bit of padding. He is a small cat. Short legs and stocky. He is such a cute chubby fat boy. I am cutting back on some calories.

Wendall was hacking this morning
....... Up came some clear liquid with a small amount of hair in it. Started him back on some hairball treatment. Luckily, he licks it right out of the tube. He does get brused twice weekly, they all do
. But he is my big groomer.... he grooms himself and the other cats alot.

So
Now I might have a Fat Boy with a cold and a hairball
....... My sweet little man. He seriously LOVES to eat. This morning as I was going through my morning ritual to hand-feed Wilbur, Wendall was all too happy to try to steal and run off with what Wilbur wasn't interested in.

I've learned it from my vet that this is always the sign of a digestive problem. Not a hairball problem.

Chum's holistic vet says that hairballs are indicative of a spleen Qi imbalance that affects the digestive system and not "normal" as most of us believe.

As Flowerbelle has chronic problems with hairballs, we've scheduled her an appt to see Chum's vet.

spleen Qi imbalance? What does that mean, Laurie?

UPDATE on Wendall.... Took him to see vet - Dr. Mark. He had two xrays and more bloodwork. Coughing in the morning's with phlegm and raspy breathing. About ten coughs and then he is fine for the day. I won't be able to get the full details until Monday when the bloodwork comes back in. Vet just lost his father and has to plan his funeral. But the lungs were "cloudy, inflammed a bit" something like that. Meaning possible asthma or allergy. Running a feline heartworm test as well just to cover all bases. Heart is good - no murmur or enlargement. Wendall was very frightened and was shaking badly. Dr. Mark said he normally doesn't see cat's shaking quite so violently. :sniffle: Wendall was very scared. Made me want to cry. But he is home now. Had breakfast and is resting comfortably. Just glad to be home where he belongs. I will not worry myself so over this - will try anyway. One day at a time and will give him loads and loads of love :rub: :heart3: :rub:

I'm just reading about this now. Lots of
for poor Wendall. I hope everything is all right with him. It's so sad when cats are that terrified at the vet, since there's no way you can tell them that the vet is there to make them feel better.

Many many vibes for you and for your scared little boy. it is so difficult to remember to ask all the right questions when we are actually in the middle of a crisis. I only hope that all bases are covered now and the Wendall will soon be back to normal with nothing serious the matter.

I'm so sorry to hear about Dr. Mark's father. :rbheart:

I know the waiting is difficult, but the bloodwork wouldn't be in until then anyway. I hope it's just seasonal allergies!!!! :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :heart2:

Let's just hope it's seasonal allergies!  I'm guessing he was trembling so because he was afraid?  Poor little guy
.  It's so hard not to worry, but try not to.  (at least you know he's on a great diet, so that's one less worry
)

I am also praying it's "just" seasonal allergies and that you boy will be back in tip top shape soon.  Both Hannah and Tumbles have that asthma-like cough from time to time.  We give them pure evening primrose oil (12 drops for Hannah, 10 drops for Tumbles) and it really helps keep the coughs away.  Neither has hairball problems, but Hannah has herpes and allergies, Tumbles just has seasonal allergy issues.

Thank you to everyone for your thought's, prayers and vibes. We take whatever we can get  :hugs: :heart2: I am afraid it might be asthma. Dr. M. asked if he sleeps all night long? Yes, Wendall stays on the bed with me from the time I go to sleep to the time we get up. That is when he coughs when he wakes up  Could this be bronchitis??? No other symptoms. Might have to do an ultrasound. Will wait till Monday and see what Dr. Mark want's to do

Wendall is really out of it today and tonight. :sniffle: I am checking on him often and loving on him. :heart3: It really broke my heart seeing him so terrified. He did not make a peep on the drive TO the vet or the drive home. I honestly believe that his terror has to do with his abuse as a kitten.. :bat: :eek:nfire: This was the first time Dr. Mark has seen Wendall. He commented twice - about him being extremely paralyzed in fear more so than any other cat he sees. :eek:hno: We could have done anything to him. :shame: He was almost in shock over the whole experience. I hated leaving him there for the xray. But it was only an hour before I got to pick him up. Dr. Mark also made a wonderful comment about Wendall's condition, coat and nice clean butt :lol3:!!! A pleasure to see :flail: He also noticed that his teeth and gums are in excellent condition. He is only eighteen months of age - but doc said his teeth are in super shape. He said that most cat's he has been seeing lately are shedding like crazy, dull coats, dry skin and leave hair all over the examining table. In comes Wendall and knocks them off their feet with his gleaming, beautiful coat. :woohoo: He asked if I just bathed him. I said "Nope, but he has been eating 100% raw meat for two months now :D and chewin' on chicken thigh meat strips"!!!!! I was thrilled that he noticed right away Wendall's outward condition!!!!! :happy3:

Thank you for keeping Wendall in your thoughts. He really IS such a unique and sweet little man. I THINK I will post some pictures of my Wendall in Fur Pictures!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!! I will :bigwink: :clap::clap::clap::clap:
