I am posting this very quickly as I need your vibes immediately. Wendall had a bit of a coughing episode yesterday afternoon. Went away. I kept a close eye on him. This morning another episode. I listened to his lungs, sounds raspy and like there is fluid in the lungs. He also has had a bit of a bloated tummy, mildly, since day one and the vet never seemed concerned about it. But now, I am seriously wondering if this is something more serious - FIP - or I am just getting ahead of myself, which I tend to do. I am going now - so please send Wendall, my little pudgy many, all your special vibes and prayers. I really, really love this little guy so very much.
I am trying to keep it together right now.

Thanks friends,
Lauren

Ok, we are home and I am thankful that Wendall came home with me. I was that scared. The xray was normal
, so that is good, no fluid in his tummy or lungs or around the heart. He is fat
I love my FAT boy.

BUT - he has pale gums, a fever of 103. We took blood to test for Heartworm/FeLK/FIV/FIP and basically everything else.
Will get the results tomorrow. Of course, he was tested when I rescued him for FeLK/FIV but you never know if that could have been a false negative
. Wendall was given some anti-inflammatory shot for the fever. My poor little fat boy. It is possible this is a bug/virus. Remember I had to take Perla and Perkins to the vet about a week or so ago. Well, Perkins started sneezing shortly after that. So could he have brought home something from the vet
.... I really hope that is all this is, just a "cold". Boy, my kitties sure seem sensitive these last few months
. As most of you know, I have been dealing with quite a few ailments.

I am going to ask a Mod to move this to the Health Forum now. I really appreciate the continued vibes/prayers coming Wendall's way. Will let you all know the blood test results too.

Well, at least the xray was clear!
THAT is great news!

Given your babies have been experiencing some allergies/immune response problems, it's very likely someone brought back a bug from the vet trip. I remember when our babies were first rescue (five in the space of 1.5 years), it seemed there was always SOMETHING going on, and almost every time we went to the vet, we came home with something we didn't have before we went.

We got to the point where if one needed antibiotics, we just put ALL of them on them. That seemed to break the cycle.

You'll get through this! At least your worst fears have been allayed, and that's a good thing!

And mega !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that Wendall will be just fine. So glad you're already back from the Vet and that Wendall came back home with you.

You've certainly had your share of worries lately.

Many vibes that Wendall will have a speedy recovery and that the blood tests are normal. It is so scary when something is wrong and our imaginations go into overtime.

Thanks
. I think back to July and realize that it has been one thing after another with the cats and Wilbur. And it does seem that when one goest to the vet another gets sick. Just round and round we go.

Something really sweet when I left with Wendall this morning AND when I got home with Wendall from the vet. Walden was all concerned when I put Wendall into the carrier. He was sniffing Wendall in the carrier and looking up at me so worried. He could feel my concern and I was holding in the tears. When we got home, Walden was meowing by the door, I could hear him when I got out of the truck. We came in and he was going nuts meowing and rubbing on my legs. I let Wendall out of the carrier, and Walden immediately started licking him.
Well.....
that made me cry all over again

Wendall seems very lethargic right now. I called to find out what inflammatory injection she gave him. The receptionist said it was Keyto???? I think that is Metacam???? I hope he will be alright. I don't know why the vet felt he needed that. Maybe the fever. and the pale gums
. he still has pale gums
.

Thanks everyone for your vibes/prayers. Keep em coming please and thank you
This day has been crazy from start to finish and it isn't over yet (the day, I mean
). Will post as soon as I get the blood test results.

Keyto?
Thankfully, we have very little experience with fevers in recent years. Usually the vet just put them on antibiotics.

Keeping up the vibes for Wendall (and you!) !!!!!!!

Walden is just too sweet.
