McGee has decided today is the start of Occupy Lap. I so don't want to get up and get ready for work. Can I just call in and say my cat has me trapped in a sea of warm cuddles and purrs?

I had the same problem this morming. Boots decided it was time for Occupy Belly, so I didn't get out of bed until 9:30 and ended up going to school with wet hair.

I so often wish I could call in for the same! Some reason, Monet KNOWS when I have to go back to work and he HAS to sit on my lap to try to prevent me from going!

I agree Laurie! It's also a great reason to not fold the laundry, cook dinner or vacuum!

Unfortunately for the furry in my house, Occupy Lap is often broken up by Screeching Toddler.

I've told Rob I was going to "call out cute" before when Nero climbs on my chest and tucks his face under my chin when I'm in bed.

Buaha, "call out cute"! Love it!
Also, that's my boyfriend's favorite cat name, although he says if he ever gets them, he'll get two and name them either Fore and Aft or Starboard and Port. Silly Navy men.

EDIT: Oh hey look, I'm an adult cat!

Occupy Lap! Too funny!

So I told the family that Jasper has been participating in "occupy lap" here for a while
Dh wanted to know what he was protesting.

I think he's protesting the fact that at night he wants to "occupy bed" with us, and we either shut the door on him, or the "girls" chase him away b/c it's their territory

Something must be going around with our kitties not wanting us to go to work. I stopped by home for lunch and when I came out of the bathroom, Scooter wrapped his paws around my ankle and bit into mt pants leg. I got him loose by sitting down and have him jump in my lap. I put him down and tried to get him to stay in with dh, but he sat in the driveway and howled pitifully until I was out of sight. I felt like such a big meanie, abandoning my baby.
