Hi friends.... please allow me to vent! UUUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Thanks.

Ok you all know the problem with my car. Well I'm sick of this run around crap! Daewoo says don't let anyone else work on it or it will void your warranty. So I have it towed to an authorized dealer 100 miles away at a cost of $300 and put walmart on hold. DAewoo dealer has it for 1 1/2 weeks and now they say they decided they don't want to touch it because they think it is walmarts fault (they changed my oil). Meanwhile I'm stuck without a car.

I just talked to my neighbor (you know the one... he was the lead attorney for the Salt Lake Organizing comittee). He is getting involved now. He is writing a letter on his corporate letter head and demand they fix it or we will sue all three. The Daewoo dealer, Walmart and the Local dealer. AND he's going to tell them if it isn't resolved quickly that he is advising me to rent a car and that will be included in the law suit. He seems to think none of them will want this and says it will be cheaper for them to resolve it by fixing the car. I sure hope so.... I'm so sick of it!

Ouch.
You're lucky to have an attorney for a neighbor.
Good luck. I'm sure all will be resolved with time and perseverance. It sounds like everyone is trying to pass the buck.

I drive an old Saab. It broke down 3 times last winter (3 different problems) and nearly sent me to the poor house (same time that George had been admitted 3 times to the animal hospital).

When it rains it pours sometimes.

Big hugs, it's so frustrating to be given the runaround like this!!

Glad you got a helpful neighbor, and getting some action taken on this. I hope you get an answer soon.

They did go bankrupt about a year ago. But now they are reorganized. And Daewoo Korea has always been ok. It was just Daewoo America. You're probably right though. They're trying not to put out anymore money then they have to.

I understand your pain. I've spent over $500 without the real problem in my car getting fixed. Fortunately, my car is getting fixed by a mechanic I know and trust. Unfortunately, the car had to get towed to him, then a dealer for me to find out that the computer failed before I could get it towed back to my mechanic. That's $150... just for towing, plus $51 for the dealer to tell me the computer failed. Anyway, That's great that you have a caring neighbour though... with power to boot. I hope it scares them into fixing it.

That sucks. I highly doubt an oil change would have done anything (unless they left something off the engine, which Jiffy Lube tends to do). Daewoo probably doesn't know HOW to fix the problem and so are trying to get out of doing anything (either that or it's so expensive they don't want to fix it).

Yeah... I think Daewoo is just trying to get out of it. I talked to our CEO here last night and told him about my attorney friends sending a letter on his corp. letter head. He said that should do it. As soon as they open the envelope and see the letter head my car will be fixed.
I hope he's right!
