Just a heads up, another site I belong to recently upgraded and many pictures posted as attachments were lost. I had pics in there that I didn't have anywhere else. And now they are gone forever.

So just in case, if you have attachments here that are not in a photobucket account or are not in a file on your computer, save them somewhere else, before the upgrade. Maybe that won't happen here, but you never know.

PS the smileys in the other site were changed too, they aren't nearly as nice or as fun. I hope that doesn't happen here. This site has the best smileys ANYWHERE

On the other hand this site is so slow for me now, that I look forward to being able to spend time here again. As it is, I can't view more than a couple threads in a sitting, because it takes so long.

It looks wonderful! There will be bugs, but there are always bugs with new things. And it will all work out. Thank you, Anne, and a big thanks to everybody who experimented during the beta process.

When we were in Connecticut over the weekend, I used my phone to come here as well. I didn't post because it's a hassle to post with the Droid. But I was still able to come in and read. It would be nice to be able to use my phone for that.

But I'll just come in using the URL. And double-tap.

Anyway, I'm excited about the new "look".

Oh that would be great and a lot faster.

I hope one day we have have skins. I find certain colors very harsh on my eyes. I use the June Contest one only.

??? We can already do that. I've had numerous attachments in this forum. Sometimes it's easier to use photobucket, sometimes it's easier to use attachments, depending on the nature of what I am posting about.

Like this....attached image uploaded directly from my computer.

Oh I know, but I don't really like attachments very much. It's usually easier for me to upload to the internet first. It looks better.

Attachments are also several steps, while posting directly is much easier.... barabim, baraboom!

Will the new platform of TCS be Linux/Mac/"nontraditional" OS compatible?

Now I have a question!

I really like how we can report spam/trolls and all that nasty stuff here. Will we still have an easy way to do that? It's helped keep TCS such a great, family friendly place. Not like other forums I've been on.

Yes, but....my point is, that people are getting excited about this "new" feature of being able to post a picture from your own computer files, but we can already do that, so it is not a new feature.

Unless I am missing something?

Every forum I belong to has a report button in the form of a little red triangle, I doubt that would ever be removed.

um-hum.... yep, there is a difference. Right now, for those who know about attaching (not everybody does), It is a two step process - you need to upload the pictures to the server in one window, wait to upload, then go back to the post, and place the images.
Posting directly to the post is a one quick step - click on the image button, a little window pops up, you choose the picture, and you are done. No waiting to uploading, no going back to the post to download the image, as you are already in the post. Quick and simple. No boxes around the image saying attached images.
Same thing with the video, but you put the youtube link.....

Every forum I belong to has a report button in the form of a little red triangle, I doubt that would ever be removed. I hope that's the case - look carefully at the pictures Anne posted - there is no report buttons whatsoever. none. No flags, no triangles, no links to report.... At least not that I could find anyways....

It is a regular web site supporting most browsers.

Yes, you can report any post you find suspicious. There is a button just like here. It is just in a different place (lower left corner rather than the upper right corner here).

Does this mean the pictures aren't limited to 400 x 400 pixels the way the current attachments are?
