It went really well today! I was terribly nervous this morning of course, but when I got there, everyone's just so nice so I didn't feel so bad anymore. It's a 3rd party logistics company, dealing mostly with foods, we warehouse, pack and ship stuff for the distributors/manufacturers to the stores. Also, they decided to put me in a different job than I was hired for, which freaked me out at first. Instead of being an order tracker/tracer, I will be a biller. Same department, just doing something completely different. I'm glad actually, I think I will be better at the billing job. The girl who is training me is moving to a different facility in a few weeks, so I hope I can get the hang of it for the most part by then. There's another biller too, though, who can help me if I have questions.

So, I am on the recliner with the laptop watching Monday Night Football, and I have both Genever and Dorothy on the chair with me. I think they really missed me, after having me home all day for the last year and a half. But I told them I'll be able to buy them more treats now that I have a paycheck again.

It's great to be back in the workforce!!

Glad to hear it went well and everyone is nice and helpful!!
I think everyone dreads the first day of a new job (or the first week for that matter!). When I started a new job after working the same job for 9 years (and basically running the place) I was so nervous the first few days I actually left the house 1/2 hr early just to give myself time to drive by the place a few times getting the courage up to actually park the car and walk in
. Everyone was very nice and willing to help me, but it was a field that I wasn't very familiar with and I was very intimidated. Of course, I ended up running a big part of that company before I left 4 years later

Good luck and hope things keep going great!

Big congratulations, Erica! Sounds like you're going to enjoy your new job. Dorothy and Genever will eventually get used to you being gone during the day, but for awhile, they may want extra attention from you. And I know that won't be a problem!

Good luck with your new job. I always used to hate being the new person -- that's why I very seldom changed jobs. Once you are there a while you'll feel comfortable and at home.

Aw, that's great! Having your job switched like that would be a bit intimidating LOL, but I'm so glad everyone's nice and it's even better that it seems like you'll like this job more than the other!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!! I know what it's like to start a new job!! I just went through it myself. The job I'm in right now though, was not as bad at the start as the internship I had before that! That's probably because 3 other people started with me in the exact same position, so we went through the orientation process together, and also because I don't have direct supervision (I can never quite relax when I know I'm being watched) That internship I had before killed me at the start!! It was a lab, and I had no private personal space whatsoever, I just had to operate this lab equipment with other people standing there right next to me, and for the first week I came home and went straight to bed because I was so mentally and physically exhausted!! I got used to it eventually, but I think I will always dread starting a new job now. I was so pleasantly surprised that my current job was not as bad as I thought it can be!
