Insulin Question..I only gave Goofy 1 unit

of insulin a half hour ago....he is supposed to get two. Don't know what I was thinking. Planning the day, other things on my mind.

Until the vet opens, I would just like to know if anyone has ever screwed up their kitties dossage? I really don't think it is a huge deal as he only gets two units in the am and 1 in the pm. He is well regulated and his numbers are very good.

I gave him two units once in the evening, and the vet tech said I could give him a bit more food if I was too worried. I think I just let it go and he was fine. No prob at all. This is what happens when your mind gets cluttered with other things!

In "most" cases missing the odd shot is not the end of the world. It's certainly an awful lot better than giving too much when the cat hasn't eaten enough.

do you home test to know what his blood glucose levels are?

Either way I wouldn't worry about it, shouldn't affect him at all.
