Last Christmas, Carolina, my Secret Santa, gave us a toy she said her cats were obsessed with. It's a little fuzzy mouse on the end of a wire attached to a wand. Sure enough, it has been Flambe's obsession, too. He begs us to get it down and play with him, he chases it frantically, and when he catches it, he will play tug-of-war with it. If we let go, he will drag it to the other end of the living area.
The little mouse lost his tail, then most of his fuzz, and then last week the wire broke where it enters the wand. I looked at it, decided it was dead, and threw it away, planning on getting another one.
We bought the new one today and, of course, Flambe loves it. But he keeps getting ambushed and the foster kittens take the little mousie away from him!
